  • Dr. James Dobson died at 89, White Communist protestors don’t speak for black DC residents, Russia bombs U.S. factory in Ukraine
    Aug 22 2025
It’s Friday, August 22nd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Amnesty International says 11 Christians railroaded in Libya Amnesty International has urged Libya to overturn the convictions of 11 Christians after they had received “grossly unfair” trials, reports International Christian Concern. The human rights organization said the trials of the nine Libyan men, a Libyan woman, and a Pakistani man were “marred by egregious violations of due process and international human rights standards.” Like Paul and Barnabas in Acts 15:26, these people “have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” According to Open Doors, Libya is the fourth worst country worldwide for the persecution of believers. Russia bombs U.S. factory in Ukraine -- one of war’s largest attacks Russia struck an American electronics manufacturer in Ukraine with cruise missiles overnight in one of the largest aerial attacks of the war so far, reports The Telegraph. The Ukrainian air force said some 574 drones and 40 missiles were fired overnight, primarily targeting western regions of the country – far from the battlefield’s front line in the east and south of the country. Supreme Court empowers Trump to cut $783 million in DEI funding On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court gave President Donald Trump the green-light to axe DEI and gender ideology grants at the National Institutes of Health, reports NBC News. In a narrow 5-4 decision, the court ruled that President Trump can cut $783 million in federal funding for “diversity, equity, and inclusion,” as well gender ideology research. Florida news director Eric Daughtery tweeted, “Chief Justice JOHN ROBERTS joined the liberals and DEI Justice Ketanji [Brown] Jackson in trying [unsuccessfully] to block President Trump from ending woke grants at the NIH.” Miller: White Communist protestors don’t speak for crime-targeted black DC residents On Wednesday, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller joined Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at Union Station in Washington, D.C. Miller railed against what he called “stupid white hippies” who were protesting the federal crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital, saying that they did not represent the crime-weary black DC residents, reports The Hill.com. MILLER: “There are residents who have lived in Washington, DC their entire lives. Their parents lived here, their grandparents lived here, and they have lived for generations in intolerable conditions of crime and decay. “I moved to the city 20 years ago. There are places where I've seen graffiti that has been untouched for two decades. There are homeless encampments that have made it impossible for families to use public parks and public recreation for as long as I've lived here. There are hundreds of residents of this city who are shot in street violence every single year, making it one of the most violent cities on planet Earth. And, for too long, 99% of this city has been terrorized by 1% of the city.” Miller took issue with the liberal protestors. MILLER: “The voices that you hear out there, those crazy communists, they have no roots. They have no connections to the city. They have no families they are raising the city. They have no one that they are sending to school in this city. They have no jobs in this city. They have no connections to this community at all. They're the ones who've been advocating for the 1% -- the criminals, the killers, the rapists, the drug dealers. “And I'm glad they're here today because me, [Defense Secretary] Pete [Hegseth] and the Vice President [J.D. Vance], are all going to leave here and, inspired by them, we're going to add thousands more resources to this city, to get the criminals and the gang members out of here. We're going to dismantle those networks. “And we're going to prove that a city can serve for the law-abiding citizens who live there. We are not going to let the communists destroy a great American city, let alone the nation's capital.” CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings summarized the progress of Trump’s federal intervention to lower crime in the District of Columbia. JENNINGS: “Our nation's capital, the District of Columbia is a federal zone. And I don't think it's theater. I think it's working. They've arrested hundreds of people. They've gotten a number of violent criminals off the street. Just last night, they arrested an illegal alien and a member of MS 13. “They've gotten a lot of illegal guns off the street. Half of all the non-immigration arrests have come in D C's two most violent wards. There was some concern that they wouldn't be looking into the places where the crime is. That's not true.” Dr. James Dobson, evangelical Christian leader, died at 89 And finally, Dr. James Dobson, the influential ...

  • Trump hopes to get in Heaven by saving Russian/Ukrainian lives; Surge of young Brits trusting in God; 5 VA schools lose federal funding over pro-transgender policies
    Aug 21 2025
It’s Thursday, August 21st, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslims beat Christian convert and take his wife and six kids An Islamic teacher in Uganda, who converted to Christianity, suffered persecution from his own family recently. Thirty-nine-year old Wambuzi Maka Uthman was at a mosque earlier this month when he received a vision about repentance. On his way home, he met a pastor and learned about Jesus. Uthman told Morning Star News, “I then understood that it was [Jesus] Who had sent me to my fellow Muslims to repent. … I was so happy beyond expectations as I developed a deeper love for Jesus.” Uthman began telling his family and neighbors about the Gospel. In response, his extended family beat him and destroyed his house. While he received treatment at the hospital, his wife took their six children with her to live with relatives. Such persecution is common for Muslims who turn to Christ in Uganda. In Luke 18:29-30, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.” State Department: Human rights in United Kingdom have worsened Last Tuesday, the U.S. State Department released its “2024 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices.” The report noted that the human rights situation in the United Kingdom worsened last year. For example, the U.K. restricts free speech near abortion mills. Citizens have faced arrest simply for silent prayer inside such “buffer zones.” = Lorcan Price with Alliance Defending Freedom International said, “It’s plain to see that the censorship crisis is worsening in the UK – from citizens being arrested and prosecuted just for praying in their heads, to the Online Safety Act clamping down on free expression online.” Surge of young Brits trusting in God Speaking of England, the country is witnessing a surge in the number of young adults who believe in God. A new YouGov poll found 37% of Brits, between the ages of 18 and 24, believe in God. That’s up from 22% in 2019, and it’s higher than any other age group. A YouGov study from earlier this year found that young adults are also attending church more. Sixteen percent attend at least once per month now, up from 4% in 2018. 5 VA schools lose federal funding over pro-transgender policies In the United States, the Trump administration is cutting federal funding to five northern Virginia school districts over their transgender bathroom policies, reports the Associated Press. U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said the districts are “choosing to abide by woke gender ideology in place of federal law. … Today’s accountability measures are necessary because they have stubbornly refused to provide a safe environment for young women in their schools.” Shockingly, Life News reports that one of the school districts even arranged and bankrolled abortions for girls without their parents’ knowledge. Trump hopes to get in Heaven by saving Russian/Ukrainian lives President Donald Trump gave a phone interview to “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday. Trump said he wants to save thousands of lives by helping to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He even said he hopes that will help him get to Heaven. Listen. TRUMP: “If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that's a pretty, I want to try and get to Heaven, if possible. I'm hearing I'm not doing well. I’m really at the bottom of the totem pole. If I can get to Heaven, this will be one of the reasons.” While some initially concluded that President Trump was revealing a physical health crisis when he said, “I hear I’m not doing well.” It becomes clear that he is referring to his spiritual health Evangelist Franklin Graham responded on Facebook. He wrote, “We do get to Heaven by good works—not by our own good works, but by the perfect work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. … That’s how one gets to Heaven—not by our good works, but by His.” In Ephesians 2:8-9, the Apostle Paul wrote, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” In other words, no matter how many lives President Trump might save by helping to end the Russian-Ukrainian War, his lifesaving action will not save him from Hell. He can only be assured of an eternal address in Heaven if he confesses his sins and trusts Jesus Christ as Savior. • Bank of America will stop “debanking” conservatives; Trump wants to end mail-in ballots; Muslim Nigerians killed 7,000 Christians this year
    Aug 20 2025
It’s Wednesday, August 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslim Nigerians killed 7,000 Christians this year A Nigerian-based nonprofit reports Islamic extremists have killed over 7,000 Christians in the country so far this year. The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law also found that nearly 8,000 Christians were violently seized and abducted. The report notes this translates into “an average of 30 Christian deaths per day and more than one per hour.” Since 2009, Jihadists in Nigeria have killed over 125,000 Christians and destroyed nearly 20,000 church buildings. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria. The country is ranked seventh on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian. Psalm 14:4 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD?” Absurd charges dropped against Scottish pro-life grandmother Authorities in Scotland dropped charges against a 75-year-old grandmother who was arrested for holding a sign near an abortion mill. Back in February, Rose Docherty held a sign that read: “Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.” Officials arrested her for violating a “buffer zone” law that restricts free expression near abortion mills. Docherty reacted to her case being dropped. She said, “This is a victory not just for me, but for everyone in Scotland who believes we should be free to hold a peaceful conversation.” Conservative Canadian Pierre Poilievre wins election In Canada, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre (pronounced PAH-lee-ev) won a special election in the province of Alberta on Monday. Poilievre heads back to Canada’s parliament after losing his seat earlier this year. He will continue his work as the opposition leader against Canada’s ruling Liberal Party. Listen to comments from Poilievre. POILIEVRE: “We will work together. We will fight together. We will sacrifice together to restore the opportunity that our grandparents left for us, so that we can leave it for our grandchildren, so that we can once again restore a country that is strong, self-reliant and sovereign. That is why we stay united. That is why we go forward. May God keep our land glorious and free.” Trump wants to end mail-in ballots In the United States, President Donald Trump said Monday that he wants to end mail-in ballots as well as voting machines. Listen to comments from Trump. TRUMP: “You can never have a real democracy with mail in ballots. We, as a Republican Party, are going to do everything possible that we get rid of mail-in ballots. We're going to start with an executive order, that's being written right now by the best lawyers in the country, to end mail-in ballots because they're corrupt.” Trump wrote on Truth Social, “With their HORRIBLE Radical Left policies, like Open Borders, Men Playing in Women’s Sports, Transgender and ‘WOKE’ for everyone, and so much more, Democrats are virtually Unelectable without using this completely disproven Mail-In SCAM.” Bank of America will stop "debanking" conservatives The New York Post reports that Bank of America scrapped a rule used to “debank” conservatives. Major banks have also used the rule to deny services to religious groups, especially Evangelical ones. JP Morgan Chase dropped the rule last year. Bank of America finally followed suit. Jeremy Tedesco with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “Over the past two years, ADF and our partners in both the private and public sectors have repeatedly engaged with Bank of America’s leadership to advocate for this change.” Fewer Americans are moving The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. domestic migration rates are down. Only 7.9% of Americans relocated to a new town or city last year, down from about 20% in the 1950s and 60s. The rate has been steadily declining since then. People are also moving less within their own county. That rate is down 47% over the past three decades. The falling domestic migration rates are associated with high mortgage rates, dual-income households, an aging population, and remote job opportunities. Church-engaged Christians have less stress, anxiety, and loneliness And finally, the American Bible Society released the fifth chapter of its State of Bible: USA 2025 report. The chapter measured church engagement as the level of a person’s involvement in the life, mission, and community of a local church. Only 34% of self-identified Christians attend church weekly. In terms of generations, Gen Z had the lowest levels of church engagement. Women, married people, Evangelicals, and people in small cities were more likely to be highly engaged with their church. • 1,500 Christians hiding in Somalia, Africa; Putin wants 20% of Ukrainian territory under their control; 270 million babies aborted by in vitro fertilization
    Aug 19 2025
It’s Tuesday, August 19th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 1,500 Christians hiding in Somalia, Africa International Christian Concern reports that there are still at least 1,500 Christian believers hiding in Somalia, Africa. This country is the second most dangerous place on earth for Christians, according to the World Watch List. Somali Christians are often killed, on the spot, when their faith is discovered – murdered either by Islamic militants or even their own family. Somalia is also the sixth poorest nation in Africa, and the highest percentage of Muslims of any nation in the world with 99.8% of the population identifying as Muslim. The only possible exception is the population on the island of Maldives, located 470 miles off the coast of India in the Indian Ocean. Citizens there are required to nominally follow Sunni Islam. So, technically it is 100% Muslim. However, a 2020 census revealed that 0.29% identify as Christian. Socialists lost in Bolivian election The socialists lost ground big time in Bolivia’s election over the weekend. The socialist candidate, Eduardo del Castillo, only took 3% of the vote. The more conservative candidate, Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga, took 30.4%. And the more centrist candidate, Paz Pereira, captured 30.7% of the vote, at last count. A run-off will be in the works. Psalm 75:6-7 is clear that God is sovereign over the nations. “Exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” Brazilian Supreme Court put Jair Bolsonaro under house arrest The Brazilian Supreme Court has resumed its campaign to silence Jair Bolsonaro, the previous president and conservative leader of the South American country. The court ordered his house arrest, after Bolsonaro addressed a crowd by cell phone. His alleged crime was that he said, “Good afternoon, Copacabana. Good afternoon, my Brazil, a hug to everyone. This is for our freedom.” U.S. State Department Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau lambasted Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Landau called the court’s actions “unbridled Orwellian impulses … dragging his Court and his country into the uncharted territory of a judicial dictatorship.” Putin wants 20% of Ukrainian territory under Russian control President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday at the White House, in hopes of working a peace deal in the Russian-Ukrainian war, reports The Epoch Times. Zelenskyy was quite reverential, unlike his last visit to the White House, where he angered Vice President Vance and President Trump alike. ZELENSKYY: “Thank you very much for your efforts, personal efforts to stop killings and stop this war. Thank you.” President Trump seemed hopeful, referencing a trilateral agreement between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. TRUMP: “If everything works out well today, we'll have a trilat. And I think there will be a reasonable chance of ending the war when we do that.” At issue is Russian President Vladimir Putin’s insistence that Russia retain 20% of Ukrainian territory now under Russian dominance. Trump has signaled on Truth Social that “Ukraine must be willing to lose some territory to Russia.” Also, Trump is pressing Ukraine to abandon any commitment to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO. Last week, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine would not be giving up land to the “occupier.” Isaiah 2:3-4 reminds us “[The God of Jacob] will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” Newsmax ordered to pay $67 million to Dominion voting machines The conservative news organization, Newsmax, has agreed to pay Dominion voting machines $67 million for suggesting the company had rigged the 2020 election in which President Donald Trump lost to then Democrat candidate Joe Biden. Newsmax issued a statement complaining that the Delaware judge presiding over the case had not offered a fair trial. And Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy noted that “The actions taken against Newsmax, and earlier against Fox News, represent a direct attack on free speech and a free press.” He also encouraged all businesses to leave Delaware, a liberal bastion in the U.S. Back in 2023, Fox News was saddled with a $790 million payout in a similar lawsuit. The almost $1 billion was quite a take for Dominion, a company earning less than $100 million a year, per an estimate from CBS News. Stock valuation through the roof...

  • Costco will not sell Abortion Kill Pill; After Putin-Trump meeting, Trump declared: “It’s up to Zelenskyy”; William Carey: “Expect great things FROM God; attempt great things FOR God!”
    Aug 18 2025
It’s Monday, August 18th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Vietnamese Communists cut electricity to church mid-service As a Catholic priest quietly led a service in the home of one of 20 worshippers in the evening of August 11 in the Đại Từ district in northeast Vietnam, Communist authorities cut the home’s electricity to stop the service, reports International Christian Concern. Then, they detained three church members. In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” Multiple worshippers livestreamed the arrests on Facebook. Within two hours, the video had been seen 60,000 times. After Putin-Trump meeting, Trump declared: “It’s up to Zelenskyy” In a join press conference with U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin summarized his perception of what needed to happen to end the Russo-Ukrainian War. He made the remarks following his 3-hour sit-down meeting with President Trump in Anchorage, Alaska last Friday. Listen to the real-time translation by a female translator. PUTIN: “The situation in Ukraine has to do with fundamental threats to our security. Everything that's happening is a tragedy for us and terrible wound. Therefore, the country is sincerely interested in putting an end to it. “[At] the same time, we're convinced that in order to make the settlement lasting and long-term, we need to eliminate all the primary causes of that conflict. And we've said it multiple times, to consider all legitimate concerns of Russia and to reinstate a just balance of security in Europe and in the world on the whole. “Naturally, the security of Ukraine should be ensured as well. I would like to hope that the agreement that we've reached together will help us bring closer that goal and will pave the path towards peace in Ukraine.” Following the press conference, President Donald Trump talked to Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel. HANNITY: “If you had to grade it on a scale of one to 10?” TRUMP: “I think the meeting was a ‘10’ in the sense that we got along great. And it's good when, you know, two big powers get along, especially when they're nuclear powers. You know, we're number one, they're number two in the world. That's a big deal. You never want to even mention that word, the word nuclear.” President Trump addressed how it went and what the next step is to bring the Russo-Ukrainian War to a close. TRUMP: “We were together almost three hours, and it was very extensive, and we agreed on a lot of points. I mean, a lot of points were agreed on, but there's not that much as you know, one or two pretty significant items, but I think they can be reached. Now, it's really up to [Ukrainian] President [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy to get it done.” Costco will not sell Abortion Kill Pill Costco Wholesale Corp. has announced it will not dispense the abortion kill pill mifepristone at its U.S. pharmacies, a decision hailed by pro-life advocates as a significant victory, reports LifeNews. The abortion kill pill has been responsible for killing millions of babies and killing and injuring countless women. The retail giant’s decision comes amid pressure from Christian investors and pro-life groups urging major retailers to refrain from distributing the abortion drug. Costco has joined other major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Albertsons, which have also declined to sell the deadly pills. Send a 2-sentence thank you note to Ron Vachris, Costco President, 999 Lake Drive, Issaquah, Washington 98027. Massachusetts is Sanctuary state for transgender surgery on kids Massachusetts has become a “sanctuary state” for transgender procedures on children, report MassResistance. Shockingly, Massachusetts doctors who break other states' laws prohibiting transgender procedures will be protected from prosecution -- and their names hidden from the public. While 25 states have banned such foolishness, the Massachusetts Legislature passed the so-called “shield law” on July 31, 2025. It is among the most aggressive and offensive anti-family laws anywhere in America. Days later, the state’s radical lesbian Democratic Governor Maura Healy, who is in a sinful relationship with Joanna Lydgate, signed it into law. Dr. Elizabeth Boskey at Boston Children’s Hospital revealed the hospital is willing to remove a 15-year-old girl’s healthy breasts. BOSKEY: “The eligibility for getting gender-affirming surgeries at Boston Children's Hospital is basically the same as it would be for most other hospitals or surgeons in the United States. And that's the case because we all follow the World Professional Association for Transgender Health standards of care. “For top surgery, you are requested, but not required, to have been on gender-affirming hormones for at least a year. It’s Friday, August 15th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims in Congo kill three, set cars ablaze, & abduct others There were two separate attacks attributed to the Allied Democratic Forces, a Muslim terrorist group operating in the eastern area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, reports International Christian Concern. The first ambush occurred on the evening of Saturday, August 9 in North Kivu Province. The Muslims targeted a specific vehicle and abducted its passengers. The second, more deadly attack occurred during the night of Sunday, August 10 in the Ituri Province. They killed three people, set ablaze several vehicles and houses, and abducted many residents who remain missing. Nearly 10,000 sign petition demanding Toronto mayor end taxpayer funding to homosexual ‘pride’ events A petition signed by 10,000 people has been submitted to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow demanding an end to taxpayer funding of homosexual/ transgender “pride” events, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Earlier this month, Gregory Tomchyshyn, the Canadian campaign director for Citizen Go, dropped off a petition to Mayor Chow calling for her government to end its lavish spending of taxpayer dollars on the promotion of sexual perversion, including the “Toronto Pride” parade. For years now, LifeSiteNews has documented the event’s crude floats, public nudity, and public displays of sexual exhibitionism. The petition said, “Mayor Olivia Chow and Toronto City Council just handed $350,000 in taxpayer money to Pride Toronto, despite the event’s history of public nudity and indecent displays in full view of families and children.” According to Canadian Broadasting Corporation News, “Pride Toronto” will see its taxpayer funding hiked by 26 percent since fewer corporations want to promote sexual immorality. Toronto Mayor Chow condemned corporations that pulled funding from the group and suggested not shopping at Home Depot because the corporation is no longer funding the sexually perverted “Pride Toronto.” You can write Mayor Chow a polite 2-sentence email of objection: mayor_chow@toronto.ca. Or send a letter to: Mayor Olivia Chow, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 100 Queen St. W., Toronto, ON M5H 2N2 Canada. Previously, Adidas and Nissan Canada were considered “gold-level” sponsors, a designation given for those who donate at least $150,000 in cash or in-kind contributions. Venezuelan Evangelical Christians march for Jesus Thousands of Evangelical Christians mobilized across Venezuela during the March for Jesus, reports The Christian Post. The event featured preaching, public worship, biblical reflection, and prayers for Venezuela. According to the Latin Evangelical Alliance, this year’s theme was: “Jesus, the nations belong to You.” Social media was filled with images of the march, which was held not only in cities but also in rural towns. Pastor José Piñero, executive director of the Evangelical Council of Venezuela, addressed the crowd in Cumaná with a message in Spanish focused on grace. I’ll translate this 9-sentence clip in a moment. (Piñero speaks in Spanish) Pastor Piñero said, “We are here because this land cries out for hope. And that hope has a name. And His name is Jesus Christ! (cheers) “Today, we march with purpose, with conviction, with firm love. We don’t march for ideologies. We don’t march for human agendas. We don’t march for political agendas. We don’t march for sectarian agendas. We come with the eternal Word of God, the Bible.” Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every W ord of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Seventeen percent of Venezuela’s population is comprised of Protestants and 71% is Catholic. Trump-Putin meeting in Anchorage today about ending Russo-Ukrainian War Anchorage, Alaska Mayor Suzanne LaFrance, an Independent, has announced that the city is “prepared and ready” for President Donald Trump’s high-stakes meeting today with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the Russo-Ukrainian War. The meeting is set to be held at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Trump seeks to extend federal D.C. takeover as ‘sanctuary city’ policies put on ice In an effort to eradicate violent crime in our nation’s capital, President Donald Trump is preparing to ask Congress to extend the 30-day limit on his federal takeover of Washington, D.C. When asked by a reporter Thursday if he intends to seek congressional approval to prolong his federalization of D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department, the president said this in reply. • Could Supreme Court overturn homosexual marriage ruling?; Answers in Genesis’ new Truth Traveler attractions, Anglican Church of Nigeria horrified by lesbian bishop in Wales
    Aug 14 2025
It’s Thursday, August 14th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indonesian Christian leaders urge government to protect religious liberty Religious leaders in Indonesia are calling on the government there to protect religious freedom. This comes after a string of attacks on Christian buildings in the Southeast Asian country. The Conference of Indonesian Catholic Bishops said, “Any act of intimidation, violence, or unilateral restriction of religious activities violates the law and undermines the fundamental values of life together as citizens of the same nation.” Indonesia is not currently on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian. However, it has appeared on that list in previous years. Anglican Church of Nigeria horrified by lesbian bishop in Wales The Anglican Church of Nigeria cut ties with the Anglican Church of Wales over its election of an openly lesbian archbishop named Cherry Vann who is in a sexual relationship with Wendy Diamond. Rev. Henry Ndukuba leads the Anglican Church in Nigeria. He said, “The Church of Nigeria believes that this moment calls for prayer for the Church of Wales, hoping that the Church of England will not follow in her steps. We should hold them in our prayers with a clear message that hope lies only in true repentance and godliness.” To its credit, The Anglican Church of Nigeria previously severed ties with the Episcopal Church in the United States over a similar situation. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns, “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” British pro-lifer targeted a third time for praying outside abortion mill Police in the United Kingdom are investigating a woman for praying outside an abortion mill. It’s the third time police have gone after Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, Director of the March for Life UK, over her silent prayers. West Midlands Police previously arrested her twice. Vaughan-Spruce won a settlement over the wrongful arrests worth about $17,500. However, officials continue to target her. Jeremiah Igunnubole, legal counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom International, said, “We will continue to robustly challenge this unjust censorship, and support Isabel’s right to think and believe freely.” Could Supreme Court overturn homosexual marriage ruling? In the United States, Liberty Counsel recently asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case of a Christian county clerk. Kim Davis, the former Rowan County, Kentucky clerk, refused to issue marriage licenses to homosexual couples. She was the first victim to be jailed and sued following the infamous 2015 Obergefell ruling. The Supreme Court ruling legalized faux same-sex marriage nationwide. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Kim Davis’ case underscores why the U.S. Supreme Court should overturn the wrongly decided Obergefell v. Hodges opinion because it threatens the religious liberty of Americans who believe that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman.” U.S. debt hits $37 trillion The U.S. national debt hit $37 trillion for the first time, according to a Tuesday report from the Treasury Department. The national debt is projected to reach 99% of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product this year which is the measure of the total economic activity within a country. The Peter G. Peterson Foundation noted that the debt amounts to $280,000 per household in America and is growing at over five billion dollars per day. It all began when a Hindu mob disrupted a church service. Authorities responded by arresting the pastors and slapping them with false charges of forced conversions! Then, the jailor and guards beat the ministers. One pastor told Morning Star News, “They grabbed the opportunity, and without any trial or evidence beat us mercilessly, simply because we are Christians. … Here in Chhattisgarh [State], they are targeting all the smaller churches. … Hindu extremists target every private celebration taking place in Christian homes.” Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in India. The country is ranked 11th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most difficult countries worldwide to be a Christian.
