  • The Ozempic Temptation- What I Really Needed Wasn't a Shot with Gen Stoney
    Apr 16 2025

Hello! It's Gen, and I'd love to hear from you. Click here & send me a text :)

In this raw and honest episode, I’m sharing something I haven’t opened up about publicly until now—my personal journey of almost going on Ozempic during one of the most emotionally painful years of my life.

After experiencing deep grief, weight gain, and a growing sense of disconnection from my body, I found myself reaching for the quick fix… craving something that would make me feel better fast. But the truth? It wasn’t really about the weight. It was about the pain underneath—the sadness, the anxiety, and the desire to escape it all.

This is a conversation about recovery, body image, emotional avoidance, and the quiet ways our old patterns resurface—even after years of sobriety.

I talk about what helped me come back home to myself—therapy, spiritual reconnection, nervous system nourishment, and most importantly, the decision to slow down instead of check out.

If you’ve ever struggled with wanting to bypass the hard stuff, or felt shame about how you’ve coped—this episode will meet you with love, compassion, and truth.

💫 And if you’re ready to explore what it means to evolve in your sobriety—not just stay sober, but truly live—I invite you into The Sober Collective. It’s my high-touch, sacred community for women walking this path with heart, depth, and intention.

  • Stop Doing This & Start Thriving in Sobriety with Gen Stoney
    Feb 12 2025

Hello! It's Gen, and I'd love to hear from you. Click here & send me a text :)

💡 You’re doing all the right things in recovery, but deep down… you’re still feeling stuck.

You’re white-knuckling your way through sobriety, constantly doing—meetings, therapy, self-help books, endless routines—but something still isn’t clicking. Sobriety feels like work instead of the freedom you thought it would bring. And if you’re being honest… you’re exhausted.

👉 So what if I told you that some of what you’re doing, you don’t even need to do?

In this episode, I break down the biggest mistakes I see high-achievers in recovery making—things that keep them stuckinstead of moving forward. And more importantly, I share exactly what you need to shift to create long-term, sustainable, thriving sobriety.

🔥 Inside this episode, we’re diving into:

    • The real reason you’re feeling unfulfilled in your recovery (even though you’re doing all the things)
    • Why doing more doesn’t always mean you’re healing
    • How I knew it was time to leave the 12-Step community after 12 years—what led me to that decision and what my recovery looks like now at nearly 17 years sober
    • Why nervous system regulation is non-negotiable if you want peace in sobriety
    • The key to building a recovery plan that actually supports you instead of overwhelming you
    • The difference between being sober and actually thriving in sobriety

✨ Your recovery is allowed to evolve. Your sobriety gets to feel lighter, not heavier. And in this episode, I’m going to show you how.

  • Difficult Conversations, Sobriety, and Letting Go with Gen Stoney
    Jan 22 2025

Hello! It's Gen, and I'd love to hear from you. Click here & send me a text :)

Navigating difficult conversations is something we all face—whether in sobriety or everyday life. In this episode, we explore how to handle challenging interactions with grace, clarity, and confidence, even when the other person is resistant to change.

I share a recent experience that reminded me of my own mindset before sobriety—when I wasn’t ready to listen and resisted help from others. Drawing parallels between that time and now, I discuss the importance of preparation, emotional grounding, and letting go of the need to control others’ reactions.

Through tools like meditation, journaling, EFT tapping, and seeking support, I prepared myself for a tough conversation that ultimately didn’t go as planned. And that’s okay. The lesson here is about focusing on your own growth, letting people be who they are, and redirecting your energy to what truly matters: your peace and progress.

If you’re a high-achieving woman navigating recovery or life’s complexities, this episode will inspire you to approach difficult moments with strength and grace. Let go of control, do the inner work, and show up as your best self—because that’s where true power lies.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Preparation and emotional work are crucial for difficult conversations.
    • You can’t force others to change, but you can control how you show up.
    • Letting go of control frees up energy for your own growth and peace.
