  • When Is It My Turn? Navigating Loneliness & Desire | A Real Conversation About Single Life
    Dec 11 2025

The holidays can feel magical… and a little heartbreaking when you’re building a life on your own. In this episode, I’m talking honestly about single season in December — the joy, the gratitude, the longing, and the moments that hit a little harder this time of year.

I share what it’s been like to spend Christmas mornings alone for years, why dating in midlife feels like a sport nobody trained us for, and how those tiny everyday moments (Costco runs, opening a good bottle of wine, watching a new show) can make you miss a person who isn’t in your life yet.

I also talk about the women listening to this show — how often you tell me an episode made you feel less alone — and why that matters so much. And we get into one of my favorite reflections: looking at where you were a year ago and actually giving yourself credit for everything you’ve handled, carried, and created.

If this season feels a little tender… you’re not the only one.

You’re not behind. You’re human. And your story isn’t finished.

  • Why Every Woman Needs a Prenup: The Truth About Love, Money, and Protecting Your Future
    Dec 4 2025

Prenuptial agreements get a bad rap — but they shouldn’t.

In this week’s episode, I sit down with California family law attorney and “Prenup Queen” Deveney Wells-Gibson to break down what prenups actually are, why they matter, and why women should be having these conversations long before saying “I do.”

Deveney has seen the same story play out over and over in divorce court — women blindsided by finances they didn’t know existed, outdated state laws that don’t reflect modern relationships, and the emotional and financial fallout that could have been avoided with one conversation.

This episode reframes prenups as a foundation-builder, not a divorce plan, and lays out how women can protect their assets, understand their state’s marital laws, approach money conversations without shame, and decide whether they’re truly aligned with a partner’s financial values.

    We talk about:

    • Why prenups actually benefit the relationship instead of threatening it
    • How outdated community property laws leave many women vulnerable
    • What women should ask before getting married at any age
    • Why financial transparency matters more than romantic optimism
    • The mindset blocks that keep couples from talking about money
    • Real courtroom stories that show exactly what’s at stake
    • How Deveney’s Love Meets Wealth framework helps couples build shared goals
    • Why measuring your financial progress as a couple matters

If you’re dating, considering marriage or remarriage, or already engaged, this is the conversation you need before you walk down the aisle.

  • Wanting a Boyfriend Isn’t Embarrassing - Settling Is
    Nov 27 2025

This week’s solo episode lands on Thanksgiving, and honestly, I’m feeling exceptionally grateful.

The Scarlet Edit has now reached listeners in 52 countries, which blows my mind. Australia, Canada… you’re showing up big, and I appreciate it more than you know.

In this episode, I break down a recent Vogue opinion piece asking a pretty wild question: “Is having a boyfriend embarrassing now?”

As a 47-year-old single woman who has been married, divorced, partnered, and in a very bad situationship… I have thoughts. A lot of them.

    Together we explore:

    • Why calling relationships an “achievement” is bizarre — and honestly a little sad
    • How our experiences, environment, wants, and needs shape our perceptions (and why that matters)
    • The pressure women feel to be hyper-independent — and why wanting a boyfriend doesn’t cancel out your strength
    • The difference between wanting a partner and needing one
    • Why you’re already whole, even if you’re single
    • How social media distorts relationship narratives (engagement → wedding → baby… you know the drill)
    • Why joy shouldn’t be hidden just because dating feels impossible right now
    • And what it actually means to welcome someone into a life you’ve built on your own terms

By the end, I circle back to one simple truth:

Wanting a relationship doesn’t make you less independent — and being single doesn’t make you less whole.

  • Reclaiming Your Power After Narcissistic Abuse: Melise Watts on Femininity, Self-Worth & Choosing Yourself
    Nov 20 2025

In this episode of The Scarlet Edit, I sit down with Melise — a woman whose words hit you straight in the gut in the best possible way. Her TikTok about watching a family by the pool went viral… but it’s her story behind that moment that matters even more.

We talk about the slow unraveling of an eight-year relationship with a covert narcissist, the difference between “earning love” and believing you're worthy of it, and the moment she chose to reclaim her life. This conversation covers abuse, self-worth, the power of feminine energy, and what it looks like to rebuild from the inside out.

In this episode, we get into:

    • The poolside moment that woke something up inside her
    • Why she used the word “earn” — and what she now sees differently
    • Life with a covert narcissist and how subtle manipulation works
    • The cycle of love bombing, withholding, and self-betrayal
    • The moment she knew she had to leave (and why it wasn’t clean or instant)
    • How speaking her truth on TikTok became the catalyst for healing
    • Reclaiming femininity after years of abuse
    • Why purpose shows up the moment you choose yourself
    • Her next chapter: stepping into makeup artistry and never serving from lack again

If you're navigating narcissistic abuse, rebuilding your identity, or rediscovering your feminine power — you’re not alone. You are not defined by your past choices.

If you or someone you know is experiencing emotional abuse, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or visit thehotline.org for confidential support.

  • A Very Unplanned Solo Episode Inside My New Studio (And My Brain)
    Nov 18 2025

Welcome to a very unplanned solo episode where I tried to record something polished and instead… well… this happened.

Today I’m coming to you from my brand-new studio!! Dog hair, moving chaos, missing flowers, fake plants I keep thinking are dying (??), and all. I upgraded everything: new desk, new lighting, a mic flag that makes me feel like a news anchor, and wallpaper in my exact brand hex code. Yes, I’m that person now.

This episode is one long stream of consciousness — part studio tour, part interior design commentary, part “am I actually looking into the camera right now?” tech experiment, part manifestation of Dear Media noticing me. Spoiler: I’m still determined.

    It’s messy. It’s funny. It’s very me.

And honestly? I’m proud of it.

Inside this episode I get into:

    • Why peel-and-stick wallpaper is a lie
    • My continuing relationship with dog hair
    • The neighbor who accidentally gave me free nightstands
    • My belief that I will end up on Dear Media
    • Designing a studio that finally feels like home
    • The joy of recording with an iPhone + a dream

  • Why Affairs Happen: Core Wounds, Self-Worth & the Psychology of Infidelity with Christina Ketchen
    Nov 13 2025

In this episode, I’m joined by relationship and self-love coach Christina Ketchen for an honest and nuanced conversation about infidelity; what drives it, what it reveals, and how it changes us.

We unpack how core wounds — our earliest needs to be seen, heard, loved, and safe — can lead us to repeat familiar emotional patterns in love. Christina shares her experience coaching hundreds of people through divorce and betrayal, while I reflect on my own story of being the other woman and what it taught me about self-worth.

    We explore:

    • Why most affairs don’t begin with bad intentions
    • The three roles in infidelity and how each carries its own grief
    • How shame and self-forgiveness intertwine
    • What limerence really is — and why it feels so intoxicating
    • The difference between setting boundaries and enforcing them
    • Why we’re sometimes comfortable in sadness and chaos

This episode is about compassion, not judgment, and about reclaiming your self-worth no matter what role you’ve played in love.

  • When Grief Meets a Narcissist: How Julie Barth Found Her Way Back
    Nov 6 2025

When Julie Barth’s husband died of pancreatic cancer, she was left with four children and a heart still trying to make sense of loss.

In her grief, she met a man who promised comfort, protection, and a fresh start. Instead, he isolated her, manipulated her, and tore down every piece of confidence she had left.

In this raw conversation, Julie shares what it’s like to fall into the hands of a narcissist while still grieving — the quiet erosion of self-trust, the slow isolation from family, the shame, the gaslighting, and the moment she finally decided to break free.

You’ll hear how emotional and financial abuse often disguise themselves as “love,” why intelligent women can still fall into toxic dynamics, and what it takes to rebuild after being completely broken down. Julie’s story isn’t just about survival — it’s about rebirth.

Today, she’s channeling her pain into purpose through her nonprofit work, helping other women facing crisis, caregiving burnout, or economic abuse find real, practical support. Her message is clear: you can lose everything and still come back stronger.

If you’ve ever questioned how you ended up in a relationship that dimmed your light — or if you’re finding your way out — this conversation will remind you that you’re not alone, you’re not crazy, and you are absolutely capable of rebuilding your life on your own terms.
