Skydiving is a popular hobby for many who like the thrills and adrenaline rush of jumping, and the incredible views of our beautiful planet as they descend. But what happens when the parachute that is meant to keep you alive as you fall to Earth, fails?

We're talking to Justin Davies, who on one of his first solo parachute jumps suffered from a mishap with his canopy, leading him to come crashing down to the ground without a soft landing. Here about what happened on the day, and how he felt when he realised he was going to hit without a parachute!

One of the skills that Flight Attendants spend the most time training for, is the one you don't see very often! And thank goodness. Cabin Crew are trained in dealing with big emergencies, like plane crashes, where there may be multiple casualties. They're also trained in triage and giving emergency medical care for these big incidents.

Lots of Flight Attendants move on to different careers in the Emergency Services. The skills acquired in cabin crew training are transferable to the ambulance service, fire service and police.

But it's tricky giving up that lifestyle of travelling the world and having fun 5,000 miles away with like minded people.

Today's story comes from someone who is ex cabin crew, but married to a crew member, so they still get to engage in some layover shenanigans sometimes! But this story nearly led to an arrest and deportation - which might have affected his new career in the police!

On June 10th 1990. Captain Tim Lancaster took off from Birmingham Airport to Malaga, when he reached 17,000ft, the window blew out and he got sucked out with it.

Cabin Crew member Nigel Ogden, along with Chief Steward John Heward and flight attendant Simon Rogers held on to their captain's legs and refused to let go. First Officer Alastair Aitchison expertly landed the plane in Southampton. The crew thought Tim was dead, but miraculously he survived. This is their story.
