In this episode, we dive into that unsettling feeling so many people are experiencing. From digital overload and global unrest to climate anxiety and cultural shifts, we explore the invisible pressures shaping our modern psyche. Is it just nostalgia for a simpler past, or is there something deeper going on? • Epi. 307 When Parents Don’t Change: How to Heal Anyway
    Sep 7 2025

Welcome back, Empaths. Today’s episode is for those carrying the weight of an apology that may never come—especially from abusive or emotionally unavailable parents.

It’s a deep wound, isn’t it? Waiting, hoping they’ll change. That they’ll finally see your pain. But the truth? Some people never change. Not because you weren’t worthy of love—but because they were too damaged to give it.

Generational trauma runs deep. Many parents simply repeated what they knew, unaware they were passing down pain. But here’s the thing: you can break the cycle.

Through inner child work—acknowledging the parts of you that were ignored, shamed, or silenced—you begin to reparent yourself. You give you what they couldn’t.

And no, closure doesn't always come in the form of an apology. Sometimes, it's choosing peace over bitterness. Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior—it frees you.

In this episode, we’ll explore how to heal without the apology, how to reconnect with your inner child, and how to finally break the cycle—for you and the generations that follow.

  • Epi. 305 Still Standing: The Power of Peace After Trauma
    Aug 29 2025

Coming out of trauma isn’t a straight path—it’s messy, painful, and often lonely. But the truth is, we don’t give ourselves enough credit for how far we’ve come. Surviving the storm takes strength most people never see. In this episode, we talk about what it means to strive for peace instead of chasing happiness. Because happiness is fleeting—but peace, peace is something we can build from within, one moment at a time.

Life will always have its ups and downs. People will let us down, sometimes even those closest to us. But the real power lies in how we respond. Do we shut down, or do we learn to breathe through it and keep showing up for ourselves?

If you’re reading this, you’ve already made it through some of the hardest days of your life. You’re still breathing. You’re still standing. And that matters. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened—it means learning how to live again, on your terms.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about resilience. It’s about finding the courage to move forward even when the past tries to pull you back. You’re not broken—you’re becoming.

  • Epi. 304 Permission to Pause: The Art of Doing Nothing
    Aug 20 2025
    • Sometimes we treat doing nothing like a crime. Like we’ve failed somehow if we’re not productive, not checking things off, not improving ourselves every waking second. But here’s the truth: doing nothing isn’t lazy. It’s necessary.

Rest isn't always sleeping or meditating or going on a wellness retreat. Sometimes, it’s lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling. Scrolling without purpose. Sitting in silence with a cup of something warm. Not fixing anything. Not solving your life.

And when you live with depression, even just surviving the day is a full-time job. So if all you did today was breathe, that’s not nothing — that’s enough.

Doing nothing can be an act of quiet rebellion in a world obsessed with hustle. It’s a way of saying: My worth isn’t measured by my output. I’m allowed to exist without constantly performing wellness or productivity.

So today, if you need it — take the pause. Unplug. Un-do. Un-become for a while. You don’t owe anyone your energy, especially when you’re running low.

      • You don’t need to fix yourself to be worthy.

      • Rest isn’t laziness — it’s an act of self-acceptance.

      • Doing nothing can be an art form, especially when you're struggling.

Always look forward to something- no matter how small.

  • Epi. 303 The Empath’s Burden: Social Media's Dark Mirror
    Aug 12 2025

The dark side of social media and AI isn’t just about data—it’s about humanity. Unlike the 1980s, when life felt slower, more connected, and real, today we’re trapped in an endless scroll. Social media was sold as a tool for connection, but it's left millions feeling lonelier than ever. We compare, we consume, we chase validation through likes and views. AI algorithms know our weaknesses better than we do—they feed our insecurities, amplify our fears, and keep us addicted for profit.

Depression and anxiety have skyrocketed, especially among younger generations who’ve never known a world without screens. We’ve traded eye contact for filters, deep conversation for comment sections, and authentic joy for performative perfection. We're overstimulated, emotionally exhausted, and spiritually starved. This isn’t living—this is digital survival.

It’s not like the 80s, where joy came from real experiences, not curated ones. We’ve been hijacked by systems designed to exploit our emotions, and we’re paying the price with our mental health. It’s time we wake up, disconnect, and remember what it means to be human.

  • Epi. 302 Escaping a World Built to Keep You Broke
    Aug 7 2025

    The Price of Survival:

Escaping a World Built to Keep You Broke

⚠️ Trigger Warning: Mentions of Financial Struggle, Depression

We live in a fallen world — one designed to keep you surviving, not thriving. Everything costs. From the air you breathe (via healthcare) to the roof over your head, existing has a price tag. Prices rise faster than paychecks. Essentials like food, rent, and energy are overpriced, not by accident, but by design — to keep you stressed, distracted, and trapped in the cycle. You're not lazy. You're living in a system built to drain you.

But there is a way through. Budget tightly, learn financial literacy, seek out community resources, and don’t be ashamed to ask for help. Grow your skills, protect your energy, and stay alert to the traps meant to keep you broke — endless subscriptions, predatory loans, and toxic mindsets.

If you're struggling to the point where it feels too heavy — please, reach out. Depression is real, and you don't have to face it alone. Contact a mental health professional or a crisis hotline. There is strength in asking for help.

You are not broken. The system is. Survival here takes courage — and you’ve already shown it by looking for truth.

    You're not alone. Keep going.

  • Epi. 301 Normalize Putting Yourself First: Silence the Noise of Society
    Jul 31 2025

Epi. 301: Normalize Putting Yourself First: Silence the Noise of Society

In this powerful episode of The On-Call Empath, we explore the radical act of putting yourself first—without guilt, shame, or apology. Society often teaches us that self-sacrifice equals virtue, especially for empaths and highly sensitive people. But what if that belief is holding you back?

Join us as we break down how to:

    • Identify when you're living for others' expectations

    • Set unapologetic boundaries without feeling selfish

    • Tune out the noise of comparison, pressure, and toxic cultural norms

    • Reclaim your time, energy, and inner peace

Prioritizing your well-being is not selfish—it's essential.

Let’s normalize self-respect, self-care, and self-trust. The world can wait. You come first.
