In this week’s episode of The Music of Life, I reflect on a powerful conversation I had with a fellow divorced friend about archaic marriages and the evolving dynamics of relationships. From financial control in my own marriage to navigating solitude post-divorce, I share some deeply personal experiences that shaped my views on marriage, independence, and the importance of protecting oneself financially.

If you've ever felt like marriage was an outdated concept or questioned why people still tie the knot without thinking it through, this episode will speak to you. I open up about how I took charge of our finances, my surprising investment journey, and why a solid prenup is non-negotiable for me moving forward.

    Episode Highlights:

[0:24] - Chatting with a friend about archaic marriages and reflecting on generational dynamics.

[1:30] - Taking over household finances and managing bill payments.

[2:36] - Enjoying independence and the benefits of solitude post-divorce.

[3:43] - The shift from control to personal responsibility in handling money.

[5:14] - Growing a $3,000 investment to $76,000 and what it taught me.

[6:32] - Suspecting financial manipulation involving child support during the divorce.

[8:04] - Insights from a NYC divorce attorney on the rising divorce rate.

[9:19] - Societal pressures to marry and how they shape relationship decisions.

[11:26] - The absolute necessity of a prenup and setting financial boundaries.

[12:56] - Reflecting on the control dynamics and why I'd never repeat those mistakes.

Hey friends, in this week’s episode of The Music of Life, I’m diving deep into something that’s been swirling in my heart lately—love after divorce. This journey isn't easy, and I know so many of you are out there trying to make sense of how to trust again, how to love again, and more importantly, how to not lose yourself in the process. I’ve been reflecting on my own story, the healing that’s happened, and how I’ve grown into someone who now values emotional depth, high vibrations, and divine timing over anything casual or surface-level.

I open up about how our childhood wounds, relationship role models (or lack thereof), and inner work all play a part in how we show up for love. I share insights from a powerful long-distance connection that came at the most unexpected time in my life and what it taught me about God’s timing, real love, and emotional safety. If you’re navigating your own healing post-divorce or wondering what a healthy love can even look like, this episode is for you.

[0:21] - Talking about love and dating post-divorce—and how so many of us carry unhealed baggage.
[3:50] - That unexpected long-distance relationship and the magic of divine timing.
[6:45] - Feeling emotionally seen and supported, even without meeting in person.
[8:36] - Why I don’t fear being alone and how that shifted everything for me.
[10:15] - The importance of not losing ourselves in relationships again.
[12:37] - Raising our vibration to attract love that matches our healing.
[14:48] - Breaking free from toxic relationship patterns and rewriting the story.
[17:25] - Redefining modern masculine and feminine roles in love.
[19:50] - Emotional value women bring and why both partners need to do the inner work.
[21:50] - A glimpse into what I’ll cover in future episodes on love and dating post-divorce.

Hey everyone—it's Caryn, and this episode comes straight from the heart. Right after a deep, emotional meditation that moved me to tears, I felt called to hit record and share what came through. I’ve talked about my divorce before, but today I’m reflecting on the transformation it sparked in me. This isn’t about the pain—it's about the healing, the grit, the relentless faith that carried me through. I see now how far I’ve come, and I felt compelled to speak directly to those of you who are still in it, still battling, still hurting.

If you've faced a brutal, soul-shaking divorce, or if you're clawing your way through an ongoing storm, I recorded this for you. I talk about what faith looks like when you're not sure you’ll make it out, about surrendering control and letting God guide the way. And most importantly, I talk about what it means to truly rise. My story isn’t over, but today’s episode is one of those turning points that I know I’ll look back on as a milestone in my healing and purpose.

    Episode Highlights:

[0:24] - Deeply emotional meditation prompts a wave of reflection on growth after divorce
[1:10] - Recognizing divine guidance through the pain: “God could have pulled me out, but he didn’t for a reason”
[3:05] - Faith defined: Stepping off the cliff and trusting you’ll either land or be taught to fly
[4:00] - Acknowledging the brutal journey and the people who are still in that kind of pain
[5:41] - Becoming a lighthouse: Using my story to guide others, no matter where they are spiritually
[6:45] - Letting go of ego, surrendering to divine timing, and finally getting out of my own way
[8:32] - Why I had to share this moment—and how I hope it helps someone else rise too
[10:00] - An invitation to reach out if you need support, guidance, or just someone who gets it
