  • The Desires of God According to His Children
    Apr 28 2025

    Jeremiah 29:10-14

Pastor Cory brings a powerful Word out of the Old Testament book of the Prophet Jeremiah. This is truly a prophetic Word for us today! God tells Jeremiah to prophesy to His people and let them know that, while He may have brought judgement upon them because of their sins, that this is not His ultimate desire for His children. Even though we sin, God's thoughts toward us are peace and love. Even in His displeasure, God desires to use His judgement to chastise us and bring us back to Himself. Our Father desires that we seek Him and know Him, and that we experience His powerful deliverance from sin through the precious sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel!

We are working on getting our back-content uploaded, please bear with us. We unfortunately began recording part-way through a long series on prayer, but we at Bald Mountain Baptist Church are so glad you have joined us here, and our prayer is that you are blessed by this message!

Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

  • The Unknown God
    Apr 28 2025

    Acts 17:22-31

When Paul gave his gospel presentation to the people of Athens at Mars Hill, he was talking to some very religious and spiritual people. However, religiosity and spirituality are not enough to save us. The only thing that is going to count on that great day of judgement is whether or not we have been found in the righteousness of the One Man that God has ordained. Even in the church, there are so many who think that their works and their good deeds are going to help them on that day. Let us never forget that on our best day we are mere sinners at best, and that it is only by faith in the Sacrifice of Christ that will save us.

  • Prayer in Action
    Apr 28 2025

    Matthew 6:9-10

While prayer is the acknowledgement of our inability, that doesn't mean that it is an excuse for our inaction. Prayer is acknowledging our complete and total dependence upon God, but that dependence does not entitle us to simply sit back and do nothing. In fact, it is precisely the opposite. God has given us work to do in His kingdom, and it is in the doing of this work that requires dependence on our part. Praying to God does not remove our responsibilities in the world. Rather, it is because of the responsibilities and burdens that He has given us that we need to be empowered by God through prayer.

  • God is Speaking. Am I Listening?
    Apr 28 2025

    Exodus 3:1-10, Hebrews 1:1-2, 1 Corinthians 2:9-16

God spoke in many brazen ways in Biblical times. From the Burning Bush, to the Mount of Transfiguration, we see God speaking to His people all throughout the Bible. The problem is, today we sometimes feel as though for God to speak to us it has to be in some similar kind of glaring display of His power. However, in His Word, God tells us that He is speaking to us in a much different, and albeit better, fashion. As believers, we now have the Holy Spirit living within us that unites us directly with the mind of our Lord. We can hear Him speak louder than even an audible voice. He can now speak directly to our hearts. And make no mistake, God is speaking. The question is: am I listening?

  • The Prince of Peace
    Apr 26 2025

    Ephesians 2:11-22

Jesus Christ is our Prince of Peace. But what does this mean? What is the peace that He gives us? Well, glad you asked! Pastor Cory does a wonderful job of breaking down this very famous passage of Scripture in which the Apostle Paul tells us of the eternal work that Christ has done for us, as well as is continually doing in us and through us. Jesus has made peace between us and God, between Jew and gentile, and between the body of Christ together as His church. The Lord is continually building us together as a holy habitation of God's Spirit, by whom we are all joined together in peace in Christ Jesus our Lord, our PRINCE OF PEACE.

  • When God's People Pray
    Apr 26 2025

    2 Chronicles 7:11-16

God promises Solomon what will be the result of His people humbling themselves before Him, seeking Him in prayer, and repenting. He says that He will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land. It is very important to note that God does not say that if the unbelievers seek Him, but rather, if His people turn from their wicked ways. There is a problem in the American church today. Slowly and surely this nation has turned away from God, and to say that the church played no part in this would be false. As God's people, we must humble ourselves before God and learn to truly pursue holiness in our own lives so that this world might be impacted by the gospel that changes lives.

  • New Year, New Me
    Mar 30 2025

    Ephesians 4:17-24

How many times have we hear this popular saying in our culture. As we enter into a new year, we'll dive into the truth of Scripture to see how the world is so close yet so far from the mark. We know that there is something missing within us, but we are trying to seek within us and within the world to find what it is. What we are missing comes from without, and must work its way within. The truth is that we are missing a real, intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior that manifests itself in every part of our lives!

  • The Grace of God Requires Thanksgiving
    Mar 30 2025

    1 Corinthians 1:4-7

The Lord has richly blessed us with grace upon grace through Christ Jesus. This amazing grace, which we in no way deserve, should prompt us to be eternally thankful to our God in heaven who loved us enough to not only send Jesus to save us from the penalty of our sins, but to also deliver us from it's power!
