The challenges that such texts present to scholars also raise a question: would we be any more successful in decoding messages sent to Earth from space by intelligent aliens?

From out of the shadows of the U.S. intelligence community, Dr. James T. Lacatski, a former Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) career intelligence officer and scientist, has emerged to become best known as the program manager who initiated and oversaw the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP). The program was, in short, the Pentagon's most comprehensive—and at times most controversial—known inquiry into unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAP.
