  • The Work Podcast Episode 20 - Bottlenecks and Booze
    Aug 15 2025

This week, Greg’s back from We Fest—the massive country music festival up in Minnesota—and we talk about how his approach to the event has evolved over the years. Back in the day, it was all about camping, drinking, chain smoking, and eating whatever junk food was within reach. The whole weekend was a blur of hangovers, naps, and missed memories.

Now? Totally different story. Greg ditched the tent for a hotel room, skipped the booze, meal-prepped like a pro, and even hauled frozen taco beef across state lines just to stay on track. We break down how he managed to keep training, eat clean, and still enjoy the music and the crowd—proving that you don’t have to wreck your goals to have a good time.

We also hit on a bigger life lesson: you’ll never “feel” ready to make a change—you have to decide to be ready. Whether it’s committing to better health, sticking to prep, or just making smarter choices at events, it’s about owning that decision and following through, no matter what’s going on around you.

Greg Mahler is also a lifetime natural bodybuilder, and can be followed on Instagram

So happy to hear this episode, of course I wish I heard it several years ago. so glad someone is shedding light on this subject.
I was diagnosed with Small fiber Peripheral Nueropathy so when I had chronic itching in random but symmetrically in the same place in both feet I didn't think there was anything I could do. As I was healing through carnivore diet the Chronic itching isolated itself to the topside base of my toes and would drive me crazy...
I and others I talked to (obiviously not doctors) always assumed bunions was a lump on the footage had no idea it was the protrusion of the deformity of the toe itself.
so I decided to order silicon toe spacers from Amazon and some cheap barefoot shoes built up to where I could where them every day...in 2 months time I had been completely pain and itch free.
I had been to several doctors for my chronic unexplained symptoms and I feel once you get a diagnoses such as fibromyalgia or SFPN they stop caring to look any further or provide any non medicated solutions.
I learned so much in this episode like all your epidodes.

There was some logic to My madness!
