  • S04 E05: Catching up on 2025
    Oct 7 2025

What happened in the first 7 months of 2025 that made me not record a single episode?...and truthfully, that made publish this one almost 1 month after the last one 🤯

    1. Life has been kicking my butt on all fronts 🫠
    2. I did a lot of hard things and made a lot of hard choices💪
    3. I have been working a lot. Resting a lot. Giving myself grace abundantly. 😮‍💨

    ——

#FastTrackTo2025ResetYear has been a refining year so far.

    • It's as if I am gold and this year has a magnifying glass on me to highlight and remove any impurity I may hold. 💥

    • It's as if I was made of steel and this year is poking and probing to see if there are softer spots. 🫠

But I also have a deep conviction that:

➡️ I am being prepared for the next season. ➡️ What's hurting/frustrating now would have been much more devastating/crippling later.

My Word of the Year (which I almost never do) happens to be EMBRACE. And that's exactly what I am doing.

Embracing all of it. The sweet and the sour. 🔥

What happened in 2024 that made me not record even a single episode? 🤯

    1. I quit a job that was toxic for me, and went head first into entrepreneurship 😮‍💨
    2. My favorite person in the whole wide world came to visit me in Montreal and we had a blast 🔥
    3. I left Montreal for Libreville! Which meant having to part ways with many things I held dear 😔...I was a multidimensional wreck!

2024 overall felt to me like a faint respite from 2023, and an introduction to the sharp refinement that was to occur in 2025.

It set the stage for #FastTrackTo2025ResetYear and I will explain why in the next episode. 🎯Heartfelt thanks to my sister Olivia and her husband for opening their home and caring for me for so many months! 🙏

    #FastTrackTo2025ResetYear

What happened in 2023 that made me not record even a single episode? BURNOUT!

From losing myself at the wrong job, to embarking on a quest to reconnect to myself and discovering my new self, 2023 was definitely the transformative year of my 30s. At least, I can't handle another year like this until I am 40 - God, please!

That year challenged my mindset, my preconceived ideas and it brought out of me grace, compassion and understanding I did not know I had. I see/hear nuance clearer than ever before, yet my stance within myself has never been firmer.

Heartfelt thanks to my friend Kenza for opening her home and her embrace once again to a friend in need. Love you girl!

    #FastTrackTo2025ResetYear

What happened in 2022 that made me not record even a single episode? Life fellas, L I F E!

I was exhausted from riding too many horses at once (https://thekaizengal.com/driven-to-burnout/) but I also enjoyed great moments with family and friends.

The second half of 2022 was but a blur, and, in hindsight, very telling of how 2023 turned out!

  • S04 E01: Mid-year Introduction to my Reset Year
    Aug 5 2025

    Folks, I am so shocked!

Shocked that I haven't uploaded in 3 whole years!

I am well aware I took a pause, but the fact that I kept thinking to myself "I'll get back to it soon" and 3 years passed me by just floors me. I was so confident!

I feel the impulse to commit to consistent recordings but life is lifin' so let's see how it goes.

For now, let's catch up on the last 6 months of 2022 next Monday Aug 12th @ 11PM EST!

  • S03 E05: Rags to Riches Series 5/5 - How I bought a house!
    Jul 11 2022

Welcome back to the Kaizen Gal Podcast!

    Disclaimer:

The Kaizen Gal Podcast should not be taken as an investment or financial advice. I am not a financial planner, nor do I pretend or intend to be one.

I am sharing what works for me, that is specific for me and for the stage of life that I am in.

--> Always make sure to do your own research and due diligence before making any investment or financial decision.

    ---

The goal of the Rags to Riches series is to share tips and habits I picked up in order to help me manage and automate my personal finances. Financial anxiety is real while scarcity mentality will hinder you from expanding the reach and ROI of your money. So here is my rags to riches story, except I am not that rich...yet ^^

    ---

There we go: the last episode of the series Rags to Riches!

Context:  In early 2019, I started to think about taking a sabbatical year. To take a break from life.

My plan was to buy a house upon my return. Then the pandemic happened.

    ---

The last episode of the series is about BUYING A HOUSE.

There are a few things to know and think about, in my opinion, before even starting to look at houses:

    1. Where you stand regarding typical wealth ratio
    2. Where you can afford to go
    3. Reverse Engineer cost to budget AND budget to cost

This will lead you to ask yourself many questions. A sample of the ones I asked myself:

    • What is the ratio of my cost of housing against my budget?
    • What is the ratio of my cost of housing against the cost of housing in my neighborhood?
    • Where do I stand against benchmarks/recommendations of specific personal finances ratios: 1) Price to rent ratio and 2) Housing expenditure ratio
    • What is the impact, over 5 years (the loan term I was looking for) and 25 years (the amortization period I was interested in) of putting down a 5% down payment VS. a 20% down payment on my 1) Monthly payments and 2) Short-term and long-term goals
    • What is the minimum price of the house I can afford with my current lifestyle without making crazy sacrifices and/or altering my savings objectives?

So here is my rags to riches story, except I am not that rich...yet ^^

    ---

This is the 4th and second to last episode on the series Rags to Riches: basically the story of habits I built that led me from being broke and in debt to being a homeowner and financially stable in 7 years.

    • The 1st episode of the series covered how to manage or pay down debt
    • In the 2nd episode I talked about paying yourself first
    • And in the 3rd one, I suggested ways to get the most out of the expenses you have make anyway

    This episode is about TRAVELING.

I love to travel and I did not want to sacrifice it in order to save more money. For me, it’s about going at it strategically in order to enjoy it without breaking the bank. Main points:

    1. Ways to save money while traveling
    2. Tips for planning your trip
    3. Personal examples
