    What are your hip flexor muscles? Many people think that a hip flexor is just a small spot in the front of the legs. This is not true. Several muscles make up the muscles that flex hip. If your doctor, physical therapist, trainers, etc., say you need to strengthen your hip flexors, learning what muscles flex the hip will help you greatly.

    Ned shares his journey as an Award winning Author and journalist, his Easy Writer Editing Services, and tips for how to survive being a writer.

    After more than 20 years as an award-winning journalist, editor and nationally syndicated humor columnist, Ned Hickson began a new chapter in his writer’s journey two years ago with the publication of his first crime/suspense novel, No Safe Harbor, in addition to launching his own book editing business, Easy Writer Editing Services.

    During his time at Siuslaw News in Florence, Oregon, his first book, Humor at the Speed of Life (2013), was published as a collection of his humor columns over his 23 years at the newspaper. His second book, Pearls of Writing Wisdom: From 16 shucking years as a columnist (2016), is a humorous writer’s guide offering tips, inspiration, and insights from his many years as a columnist and writer.

    “Though it took a few decades and a couple of side roads, I feel very blessed to be in a position to pursue fiction writing full time while also utilizing what I’ve learned as a journalist and writer to help other writers on their own literary journey,” says Ned.

    His latest book, No Safe Harbor (2023) is the first in his Pacific Northwest-based crime/suspense novel series featuring Seattle private investigator “Shane McPhearson,” with the next book in the series, Harbinger of Truth, scheduled for release later this year.

    He is also working on a young adult paranormal fiction mystery, The Truth About Emily, planned for release in December 2024.

Prior to that she taught first and second grades in California for 22 years. She retired from the magazines in 2009. During 2010, she wrote Crossings: McCullough’s Coastal Bridges, which came out in the spring of 2011 to help commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport, the Siuslaw River Bridge in Florence, the Umpqua River Bridge in Reedsport, and the McCullough Memorial Bridge in North Bend and the 20th anniversary of the “new” Alsea Bay Bridge in Waldport.
