  • My Camp | Amigas Cheetahs, Friends for Life
    Aug 26 2024

Discover the magic of a lifelong camp experience as we sit down with Shira from Camp Tevya. Shira's connection with Camp Tevya began at a tender age and evolved into a cherished journey that spans her childhood, teenage years, and adulthood.

At the age of 9, Shira embarked on her first summer at Camp Tevya, joining the youngest girls' cabin. As she progressed through her camp journey, Shira transitioned from a camper to a CIT (Counselor-in-Training) and eventually became a counselor during college. Her dedication to Camp Tevya continued into her adult life, where she served as part of the boating and canoeing staff and later became the Head of Water Sports. Finally, Shira assumed the role of Assistant Head Counselor for the girls at Camp Tevya.

One of the key elements that made each year at Camp Tevya special for Shira was the opportunity to grow up with the same group of girls in her cabin. This sense of continuity fostered friendships that endured a lifetime. As a family-run camp, passed down through generations, the camp's commitment to preserving tradition is evident. Many of the camp's activities and customs have remained unchanged since its founding, adding a timeless and nostalgic touch to the camp experience.
