  • Let’s Talk About … Vanity: Your looks are not the most beautiful thing about you
    Jul 2 2025

After recently chopping (and donating) 10 inches off her hair, Caitlin realized that she was very attached to her long hair and furthermore, that it was a way she felt beautiful. With that gone, she was faced with the question of “do I still feel beautiful?” Her answer is “yes”, but not for the reason you might think. It made her evaluate her own vanity. She realized that she has tried hard to not let her physical appearance – and the attention she may get for that – be a measure of her worth. This episode gets very personal for as Caitlin tells her experience with bullying in middle school. She was a late bloomer and ridiculed for it in multiple ways. But, it is only in looking back on her experience that she sees how that impacted her relationship with her own looks and vanity. Overall, she wants people to see that their face, hair, body, clothes, or anything else external, are not the most beautiful things about them. This is one of those episodes that’s full of lessons, leaving you feeling better than when you hit play.

  • Let’s Talk About … Fatherhood: Insight and advice everyone needs from my dad
    Jun 18 2025

With Father’s Day just behind us, Caitlin thought this would be a good time to (re)introduce her dad, Jim, to the podcast. If you are an OG listener, you will remember him from “Let’s Talk About … Sacrifice.” Father’s Day can bring up a lot of different emotions for people. Some people no longer have their dads here with them, others have a strained relationship, and the lucky ones (what Caitlin considers herself to be) have a great figure who protects, guides, and supports them through life. She knows people who fall into every category of those relationships. In her personal life, she often “shares” Jim with others. He is the quintessential dad. So, she felt like it would be nice to share him with this audience as well. In the first part of this episode, Caitlin reflects on some of the life lessons her dad has taught her. Including the life lesson that resulted in her teenage self giving him the silent treatment for hours. The second half is a chit-chat between Caitlin and Jim where he talks through his best dad wisdom and even answers questionsthat some of you sent in. Jimbo is not being gate-kept any longer. Enjoy!

She was hurrying around, trying to make sure she was spending time with everyone when she realized they were all plenty content with each other. Everyone felt seen and was having a good time because the room was full of great people. It made her reflect on the type of friends that she has in her life. She has friendships that have lasted more than 20 years and some that have sparked in the last 12 months. In this episode, she talks about some of the lessons in friendships she has learned, like why it’s important to have a friend who you call when you need to cry. • Let’s Talk About … Showing up for your people: Why being there in the highest of highs, lowest of lows – and everything in between – really matters
    May 7 2025

In honor of Mother’s Day (week), Caitlin has her mom back onthe podcast. They are recording from a trip to their family’s home in Montana. Alison (Caitlin’s mom) has always had a mantra about “showing up for your people.” In many ways, this was inspired and reinforced by the community of people that they have in Montana. So, it felt like the perfect topic to discuss between the two of them. Caitlin finally opens up about the major loss she first discussed in “Let’s Talk About … Support.” She details one of the hardest things she’s ever done, which is something related to that same loss while in Montana. They both tell other stories about times when they have felt like others showed up for them and they showed up for others. They also describe the feelings about others not showing up for them and how they handle that. This is a very emotional episode, including some near-tear moments. But, the most vulnerable moments are often where we can all feel most connected. Enjoy!

    Apr 23 2025

Being back in places where you once lived or spent a lot oftime can do funny things to people. Caitlin lived in Los Angeles for four years and every time she is back in the city, something special happens to her. A longing for memories and could-have-beens flood her brain. In this episode, she talks about the complexities of her relationship with this place. In so many ways, this city shaped her. But, she still knew when it was time to leave. She wrestles with questions like “what does LA mean to me?” “why did I leave?” and “would I ever move back?’ At the end of the episode she interviews her 96-year-old grandfatherwho grew up in a rough part of Los Angeles. She asks him what this city meant to him then, and what it means to him now. Don’t hurry through this episode because grandpa gives us all some priceless wisdom that only someone who haslived as much life as him could behold. This episode is a bit different in style, but leaves you with the same familiar feel-good content you’re used to at The Good Stuff.

p.s. Grandpa is on oxygen 24/7, so that is the humming noiseyou hear.

    Apr 9 2025

Change can make people feel a lot of ways. It can make you feel excited or scared or both. As they say, “change is the only constant.” Which means it is a universal experience for us all. In this episode, Caitlin talks about how change makes her feel. Sometimes, it brings up intense anxiety. Other times, she feels like she has looked back in the hypothetical rearview mirror of her life to see something major changed and she didn’t even know it. This is a personal episode for Caitlin. She talks about the two times in her life when she felt so anxious that her life felt out of control. She also reflects on massive changes she has made that didn’t feel so massive at the time, but shaped who she became. Like studying abroad, moving to a new state, starting her own business, and starting this podcast. The experiences are specific to her, but the feelings and reactions to her situation are very relatable. Whether you are gearing up for a big change or just want to be entertained by the journey this topic takes her on, this is an episode you will enjoy.
