Fortunes are made in transitions — and in this episode, I’m breaking down a simple truth:
If you can provide sufficient value, you’ll get to your big number. The real question isn’t “Can I charge that?” — it’s who am I sitting in front of, and is the service I provide worth the amount I’m demanding from the marketplace?
But if you’re a leader, building results through a team, there’s another layer: To lead people from past results to new results, you must understand how they’re wired. That’s where CODE comes in — a personality framework that helps you communicate, motivate, and lead with clarity.
The 4 CODE Types (Quick Overview) C — Connectors (Connection & Contribution) Connectors are people-first. They thrive when they feel meaning and purpose. To lead them well: help them see the brighter side of the work, and the contribution they’re making.
O — Organisers (Stability, Order, Structure) Organisers value stability. Uncertainty can stall them. To turn that around: focus on what you can control — routines, systems, daily order. Let structure become your anchor.
D — Detail-Oriented (Competence & Logic) Detail-oriented people value accuracy, competence, and logic. When laws and conditions keep changing, it’s easy to get stuck in analysis — but your gift is meant for progress, not paralysis. Use your detail strength to find the core information your customer needs to take the next step. The more people we help reach their goals, the faster we reach ours — no one gets ahead by themselves.
E — Effervescent (Freedom, Energy & Play) E-types want movement, freedom, and creativity. Restrictions can trigger frustration and impulsive pivots. Instead of running, slow down, step back, and find another way through the noise. If you decide to leave something behind, make sure you hire the right person — because if not, your business can collapse. And if you’re staying, don’t stare in the rear-view mirror — focus on the people you’re serving and let your goal pull you forward.
The Core Message Change is a constant. The external landscape will keep shifting. If you chase conditions, you’ll always feel like you’re running on your hind legs.
But if you’re aligned with your values, centred, and clear on what you’re aiming towards — the way might change, but you’ll always know where you’re going.
Everything you desire has a price. The question is: are you willing to pay the price?
Quick Summary (Your Action Steps) -
Identify your obligations and reframe them as conscious choices aligned with your values. Take responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, and actions — and let results be feedback.
-
Break down your Type C goal (that big overwhelming vision) into small, workable steps — ideally daily.
-
Take action immediately. Nothing changes without action. Even internal action counts: visualize it, bring it into your body — how will it feel when it’s done? Then follow with physical action: pick up the phone, send the message, show up, and start the conversations that move you forward.
Next Episode Next week I’m continuing with Awareness — we’ll go deeper into what it really means to stay centred in shifting conditions, and how to use awareness to create consistent progress (not just motivation).
