In this sixth installment of our Lent series Hearing Voices, we turn our attention to a group we often love to judge—the Pharisees. Found in Luke 19:39–40, their demand to silence the crowd during Jesus’ triumphal entry reveals more than just religious rigidity—it reveals a heart resistant to uncomfortable truth.

In a world that often tunes out the quiet and broken, Jesus hears what others ignore. We continue our Lent series, “Hearing Voices,” by listening to the silent but powerful faith of a woman in Luke 8. She doesn’t have a name, a voice in the crowd, or a place in society—but she does have faith.

What does success in God’s eyes really look like? If we measure it by results, then Isaiah’s mission was a failure. But in Isaiah 6, we see that God wasn’t calling Isaiah to be successful—He was calling him to be faithful.
