The energy of July, based on this I Ching reading, promises to be dramatic! The card for the month, #47, Oppression, really speaks to the feeling of being surrounded by danger and chaos, but as long as we stay attuned to our inner light, we will make it through to the other side.

#5, Waiting, focus line 5, wants us to know that it's good to take breaks, but to be prepared to take action when the time is right.

#3, Difficulty in the Beginning, focus line 2, asks us to go inside, do the inner work, and then see where you need to learn more before taking unwise action.

#29, The Abysmal, focus line 6, invites us to stay grounded, acknowledge any potential danger around us, and join with the collective at the right time to take action to make the changes needed. That collective may be a group of people, or it may be your own self. It's time to find our courage and ground our emotions in order to truly see what the situation is. No one can be at their best when they are under the influence of collective panic, anger, or fear...or even collective joy! All of these cloud our judgement and decisions are made not from a space of objectivity, but from emotions. July is the month to be practical and considered.

DOUBLE SNAKE MONTH! All of our transformation will be doubled this month, and expect to see many areas of life experience a pruning effect. This will be especially pronounced on May 12th, a Yin Metal Snake day in a Yin Metal Snake month in a Yin Wood Snake year!

April's Yang Earth Dragon month is full of twists, turns, and surprises. Peace is there, but you may have to look hard for it. It'll likely be found in the quiet moments when you go inside of yourself, or appreciate nature. Light follows dark follows light...times of trouble are constantly intertwined with times of abundance and joy. Know that this season will evolve into something new and different. Be generous with others, and with yourself. Do you need time to recharge? Take it. Give others the encouragement that you also are giving to yourself. The unfamiliarity and novelty that travel brings not only broadens your horizons, but it forces new perspectives. One doesn't need to leave their city or even their neighborhood to take on a new sense of wonder and delight! The most delicious experiences of traveling come when you observe locals and their customs, and honor them by not imposing your "tried and true" ways of your homeland.

This month, be gentle with yourself and others. The rule following of Yang Metal and the etheric dominance of the Dragon (which holds hidden earth) can make for a month of lockdowns, breakdowns, breakthroughs, and explosive growth. If you have Dog in your chart, expect a transition or transformation. New skills may be uncovered if you have Fire in your chart, especially Yin Fire, since Fire is able to refine Yang Metal into something useful. Considering that we are in a 20 year Fire cycle, everyone gets some of this, so stay calm and take deep breathes!
