  • More Than a Gordon Gartrelle: Reflections on Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Life, Legacy & Lessons as Theo Huxtable
    Jul 29 2025

We knew him as Theo Huxtable. But we came to learn Malcolm-Jamal Warner was much more than a teenage son on a hit sitcom. Through this character, he taught us about self-discovery, respect, and heart. And through his life, he gave us laughter, poetry, mentorship, and music that still speaks.

From sitcom son to soulful storyteller, Malcolm-Jamal Warner taught us that character is more than costume. In this episode, we unpack his journey, the intentionality of Theo, and what his legacy teaches us about family, culture, and personal growth.

I’ll be reflecting on Warner’s legacy—not just on television, but as a man of depth, dignity and devotion. Man of faith. His roles weren’t just entertainment. They were education. They revealed the possibilities for family, identity, and responsibility.

I’ll explore the psychology behind his character, the intentionality in his work, the inspiration he left for parents, boys—especially Black boys—and Black families, and, of course, the lessons his life can teach all of us.

  • Love & Like: What’s the Difference—and Why It Matters in Life & Work
    Jul 15 2025

Love and Like—two words we use often, sometimes interchangeably. But they’re not the same. One speaks to the essence of a person; the other, to our preferences. One builds enduring connection—transformational in nature. The other can be fleeting and merely transactional. Understanding the difference can change how we lead, relate, and live.

In this episode, we’re diving into the subtle but powerful distinction between love and like—and why it matters in leadership, relationships, and self-awareness. Join me on The Coach’s Corner as I make the complex simple, the simple meaningful, and the meaningful profound and impactful.
