  • Episode 132 - The Death Korps of Krieg - Their history, their units, and (sigh) their horses
    Mar 30 2026

On today’s cast we jump back into the Death Korps of Krieg. We start where we should with the revolution on Kreig, how it started, how Jurten turned the tide to make it a more “even” battle” and how he and his loyalists eventually won out. We then move out on to cover the Kreig themselves. From the lowly Guardsman, to the Grenadier, the Quartermaster, Commissar, and (heavy sigh) the mounted units.

  • Episode 131 - The Minotaurs, for real this time
    Mar 23 2026

On today’s cast we jump into the Minotaurs chapter of the Space Marines. Starting with the earliest mentions of any space marines called the Minotaurs in the lore. But then we get into the more firm accounts starting in the 41st millennia. With them being super cool during the Macharian Heresy, Badab Wars, saving the Crimson Fists, and more. We spend a lot of out time talking about how the Minotaurs fight and behave, with an especial focus on what makes them different from other space marine chapters. We also spend a good amount on their super crazy bad ass (but also crazy violent) chapter master Asterion Moloc, and what or who we think he might be.

Started listening to this being brand new to 40k lore. For me it’s the video games that got me interested. John and Brad do a great job covering the 40k universe and are pretty entertaining too. Highly recommend if you don’t know where to start with the lore.

Absolutely love this podcast! Very informative and entertaining. I have been a 40k fan for awhile and this is by far my new favorite way to dive into the the lore again. John, Brad keep it up!!

Favorite 40k cast

A fun cast to listen to and the hosts break the lore down in a digestible way.

Vague.
I assumed, being new to 40K, this would be a good way to jump in. Unfortunately, although John and Brad are very outgoing and entertaining to listen to, they are very vague. I'm still not entirely sure what a lot of the "basic" lore is.
For example I still don't understand if STCs are a program, a drive, a robot, a spirit...?.
I also don't understand if the Warp is a drive, a different dimension, a ship, a black hole, or something else entirely. John and Brad just assume that you'll understand how things function, for example saying "the Warp is now a tsunami". I never explaining why it is "a tsunami". Seems like a fun show to listen to, but only if you already know the lore.
Would recommend the Lorehammer podcast instead.

Fun to listen to, but super vague
