    It’s time to address the battle that is before us. Those who are hostile to God desire to take us captive as prisoners of war. The issue we face is that we may have already been taken captive and our unaware. This episode explores our risk of falling into captivity by looking at Colossians 2:6-10. When we accept Christ, we receive Him by faith, but it doesn’t stop there. We must continue living according to Christ, by faith, as we do this, we grow up in Christ. He becomes the perfector of our faith, and His life in us is the only path to maturity. Those who oppose God oppose us, and they do not want us to mature and become who we were created to be. There mission is to place us back in captivity and keep us from living by faith.     We are excited to welcome Dr. Carmen Imes to the show this week. Dr. Imes is an associate professor of Old Testament at Biola University. She is well known for her love of the Bible and her desire to understand it well, and help others understand it well. We begin this episode by introducing Dr. Imes to the message of the Temple Restoration Project and the idea of living by faith over fitness. From there, she expands our understanding of what it means to be the image of God and the idea of bearing God’s name. She emphasizes why the Old Testament matters in understanding our identity and mission as God’s people. Our discussion focuses on how these ideas are essential to living by faith in who Christ is rather than attempting to increase faith in who we are. Carmen also introduces us to her new book, Becoming God’s Family: Why the Church Still Matters. Our conversation with Carmen is filled with great insight as she sheds new light on what it means to live by faith.     We have reached a pivotal point in the podcast; the Lord is up to something, as He always is. In past episodes, Jenny shared the stories of the races that she ran with the Lord. It has always felt like a battlefield, a place the enemy shows up to slow down the momentum of the project, that was, until the Lord revealed the truth of what was going on.
