  • EP 212 Emilie Björkman of Wild Fish, Wild Places
    Apr 1 2026

We sit down with Swedish angler, conservationist, and filmmaker Emilie Björkman to dive deep into her latest cinematic masterpiece: Wild Fish, Wild Places.

Emilie takes us behind the scenes of this series, sharing the highs and lows of filming in some of the world’s most iconic and fragile fisheries. We also give a massive shout-out to her filmmaking partner, Ted Logardt, the visionary behind the lens who helps bring these poetic, rugged stories to life. Together, Emilie and Ted have created a series that is as much about the culture and responsibility of the sport as it is about the fish themselves.

  • EP 211 Gaspé Fishing Trip with Junior and David
    Mar 15 2026

We head east to the legendary Gaspé coast for an unforgettable adventure chasing striped bass and Atlantic salmon. It was our first time exploring the region, except for Aldo who had been before - and the experience lived up to every bit of the hype.

We were joined by our good friends Junior and David, and together we fished the rivers and coastal waters of the Gaspé while taking in the rugged beauty that makes this place so special. Along the way, we also filmed a short documentary called This Is Ours, which tells the story of the Gaspé Coastal lodge and the people connected to it. The film is currently touring in the PALM Festival and the Scale of Change festival, and this trip became a big part of that story.

In this episode, we talk about first impressions of the Gaspé region, what it was like targeting striped bass and salmon in such an iconic fishery, the moments that stood out from the trip, and how the experience shaped the film.

From road-trip laughs to powerful days on the water, this conversation captures the spirit of a place that quickly left its mark on all of us.

If you love travel, fishing, and the stories that come from chasing fish in new places, DON'T MISS THIS EP!

Special thanks to Junior and David for working their butts off to capture the film and content. AND to the fab people at Gaspé Coastal. WE LOVE YOU!

  • EP 210 Norman Maktima, Competitive Angling, Desert Trout, and More
    Mar 1 2026

We sit with Indigenous Pueblo angler Norman Maktima. Norman grew up in Pecos, just outside Santa Fe, fishing the Pecos River with his father, a place that shaped both his angling and his identity as a descendant of the Pueblos of San Felipe, Laguna, and Hopi. He’s been immersed in fly fishing since childhood, splitting time between the water and the vise, and by 1997 he was already guiding for High Desert Angler and earning a spot on Team USA’s Youth Fly Fishing Team. Since then, he’s built an elite competitive career with international medals, a U.S. National Championship title, and appearances at world championships across Europe and North America. Today, Norman designs signature flies for Umpqua, runs NMaktima Fly Fishing featuring Pueblo-inspired designs - he guides on the San Juan River, and coaches the U.S. Women’s Fly Fishing Team, which recently took Team Gold along with individual Gold and Silver at the World Championships. Beyond competition, he’s deeply committed to teaching and sharing knowledge, especially within Indigenous communities, using fly fishing as a way to connect culture, water, and opportunity.

  • EP 209 Chasing Roosterfish with Jeffery Feczko
    Feb 15 2026

We sit with Jeffery Feczko, owner and guide of To The Gills in Baja California Sur, Mexico. From fly tying at a young age to guiding fisheries across the globe, Jeffery has built a life shaped by travel, salt, and fish. His twenties took him from Alaska, earning his 100-ton USCG Master Captain’s license, to destinations like the Seychelles, where guiding iconic atolls eventually led to burnout and a realization that living in waders year-round wasn’t the life he wanted. Drawn back to warm water and shore-based fishing, he went to Baja California Sur, where he now guides year-round in one of the most diverse and demanding fisheries on the planet. In this episode, we talk about why Baja stands above everywhere else he’s fished - the people, culture, food, and the mighty, mighty roosterfish.
