  • Q&A: All About Schedules, Sleep Regressions and more!
    Apr 22 2025

Answering this weeks Top 5 Questions! This week's questions highlight the following:

    – My 14 month old will still take 2 naps, but is up at 5:30am every day. Is there something you’d recommend I change to get her to sleep later in the morning?

    – My baby is 7 months and I keep cutting back the length of his first 2 naps to fit in a third. How short should I cut them before I decide it’s just time to move to 2 naps only?

    – My 8 month old is transitioning from 3 naps to 2. Is 6pm too early of a bedtime as he gets used to this transition?

    – Can you offer some tips for the 18 month sleep regression? Babe has been protesting bedtime and waking in the night and never used to do that before.

    – Can you sleep train during a sleep regression? Or should you wait until after?

  • Why I Hate The Term "Cry-It-Out" (it’s probably not why you think!)
    Apr 8 2025

First and foremost, Cry-it-out (CIO) also known as "extinction" is NOT an approach used by The Happy Sleep Company, but certainly one that is very prevalent among search engine results related to sleep coaching. So let's talk about it, in this episode I explain why I hate the term CIO (which might not be why you think) and also gives parents an understanding of what CIO really is.

  • Q&A: Is This Normal?!
    Apr 1 2025

Answering this weeks Top 5 Questions! This week's questions had many families asking, is this normal?! We answer your questions but also remind our families that every child and situation is different and the terms what is normal vs. standard from a sleep consultant

    – Do moving bassinets like the SNOO help newborns fall asleep by themselves?

    – How long should it take baby to fall asleep once they are in the crib?

    – Is it normal for a 10 minute car nap to reset my baby’s wake window?

    – My 5 month old goes to bed well but has short cry outs a couple of times per night. Why is this?

    – My 10 month old is randomly waking up twice per night again when he used to STTN, but he falls asleep independently. Why?

The Happy Sleep Company’s Infant / Toddler Sleep Program is suited best for children who are 14 weeks to 3 years of age and still sleeping in a crib. Children at this age need healthy sleep for proper development, to boost their immune systems, and to help them take in the big, bright, ever-changing world around them. At this age and in this environment, amazing sleep habits can be established very quickly with loads of consistency and tons of love involved! We will work closely with your family to develop a sleep plan that is right for your child, and help you help your little one to be sleeping through the night and taking proper naps within our two weeks together!
