Not every manga can make it in Shonen Jump like Dragonball Z, One Piece, or Naruto. Listen in to David and Jordan discussing the manga that got canceled, and what they could have done to have stayed afloat instead of becoming a Shonen Flop. Learn more at shonenflop.com. • #134.5 A murder mystery by the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh? The ComiQ first impressions
    Sep 29 2025

    MAL Description:

Starring "an unlikely love for two," Pendulum of Love is the latest series to be serialized in the popular magazine Shoujo Jump. This serialization is also the debut of Ryota Sakamaki. Through his editor, the shy rookie manga artist receives some help in the form of complex background artwork from a mysterious person. Though the pair frequently work with one another, Ryota has never once met his assistant, leading to his curiosity about the person's identity.

Upon further investigation, Ryota learns that his background illustrator is Katsuo Baba, a prisoner convicted of the infamous "Halloween Murder"—a crime committed within the local park three years ago that his own work seems to reference. While hesitant to work with a criminal at first, Ryota quickly picks up on Katsuo's desperation, and after meeting him face-to-face, Ryota becomes determined to set him free with the power of their manga!
