It is a big difference when you study something you love as opposed to being something you don’t want to be. It was like I had these curtains close across the front of my eyes. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had just dropped everything and gone the next day. For someone to say to you, ‘it all makes sense’, when you’re feeling so unwell, that piece alone is really healing. My elimination systems had stopped working and my body was carrying a toxic load. That is when I really wanted to learn how to help people in this way as well. Nutrition, movement, mindset and supporting your nervous system, they are all equal. A little bit of everything improves everything but a lot of all of them improves a lot. It is really about the one percent changes. If it is done consistently over time, it has a really profound impact. I don’t think enough people actually listen to their bodies. Your body is giving you messages and signals all the time. Anything that is opposite to good health is a whisper. Your period is like a monthly report card into your health. It is not junk food, because it is not food. If there are numbers on the back of the packet, that is not real food. Doctors are seeing people who are sick and potentially dying. That is where their focus has to be. Naturopathy works in that space where you are not sick and you are not dying, but you are also not well. It is never about treating everything at once. It is about finding the primary driver. When you understand pain, the threat of pain is less, and when the threat is less, the pain reduces. I am still a working progress in resting enough.
