  • Do You Know How To Receive?
    Apr 13 2026

Giving comes naturally to most of us. We know how to show up for others, pour ourselves out, and keep going even when we're running low. Receiving is something else entirely. In this episode, Coach Joy takes a close look at why letting love in — from God, from ourselves, and from the people around us — is so much harder than it looks. Two of the biggest culprits are pride and shame. Pride says we don't need it. Shame says we don't deserve it. Both leave us disconnected and running on empty.

Receiving is a skill, and like any skill, it takes practice. Coach Joy walks through what that practice looks like across all three of our core relationships and explains why progress in one area tends to create movement in the others. This week's Walk It Out gives you a way to start noticing where you're closing yourself off to the very things you're longing for.

  • The God You Learned VS The God Who IS
    Mar 30 2026

Many of us were introduced to a version of God that was shaped by our upbringing, our culture, or the limitations of others. This lopsided view can affect everything, from our ability to feel close to Him to the strength of our faith in difficult times. It can keep our relationship with Him in a box, limiting our experience of His true character. This episode is dedicated to dismantling those old, incomplete pictures of who He is.

This is an opportunity to see Him as He desires to be seen: full of grace, boundless in love, and far bigger than any box we could create. Prepare to have your perspective expanded and your heart opened to a more intimate and authentic relationship. It is time to meet the God who is, not just the one you learned about.

  • The Missing Piece ~ When Self-Help Isn't Enough
    Mar 16 2026

Nine weeks into the journey, Coach Joy gets honest about something a lot people experience during healing and growth: You can do all the work, read all the books, and still feel like something is missing. With all of the knowledge you gain, you may still find it impossible to make the appropriate changes. It is a signal that you were made for a connection that self-improvement alone can never satisfy. This episode explores why the tools of self-awareness, as powerful as they are, do not equate to lasting change for some people.

Coach Joy introduces connecting with God as the missing foundation. Listeners walk away with a practical exercise called the Honest Invitation, a simple three-step practice of telling God where you are, inviting Him into the process, and asking for what you need.

  • "Self-Compassion And Forgiveness"
    Mar 9 2026

In this episode, we address something that quietly damages every relationship you have: the difference between holding yourself accountable and condemning yourself.

Many people believe being hard on themselves is the same as taking responsibility. This episode breaks that down. Accountability looks at what you did and creates a path forward. Condemnation attacks who you are and keeps you stuck. One produces growth. The other produces cycles you cannot seem to break no matter how hard you try.

I share from my own experience of carrying condemnation for years, how it made me defensive when people tried to help me grow, how it kept me hiding parts of myself that needed to be seen, and how it perpetuated the very patterns I was trying to change. The weight of self-condemnation costs you more than you realize, and it shows up in your relationships in ways you may not have connected to it yet.

We walk through what self-compassion and forgiveness actually look like in practice, including how to name what you are carrying, how to feel what you feel without staying there, and how to separate what you did from who you are. Scripture grounds the teaching throughout because the foundation of this work is understanding what God has already declared true about you.

In Walk It Out, you receive the Compassion and Forgiveness Release, a physical and emotional practice that helps you move forgiveness from something you understand to something you experience.

We close with this: you did not have to earn God's forgiveness. You already have it. The work is learning to receive it, extend it to yourself and allow it to flow through you to others.

  • "Relationship Rules"
    Mar 2 2026

In this episode, we talk about the unwritten rules you brought into your relationships without realizing it.

Every family has a way of doing things like: The way conflict gets handled or avoided. The way love gets shown or withheld. The way people communicate, or do not.

You watched all of it growing up, and whether you meant to or not, you absorbed it as the way relationships work. Those patterns became your blueprint.

The challenge is that a blueprint formed in one environment does not always serve you well in another. Some of what you learned was healthy and worth keeping. Some of it was passed down from generations of people who were also doing the best they could with what they had. None of that makes it your fault, and none of it means you are stuck with it.

We look at how to identify the relationship rules you are operating from, trace where they came from, and decide which ones you want to carry forward and which ones you are ready to release.

We close with this: you did not choose the rules you started with, but you have the power to choose the ones you live by now.

  • Why Do Small Things Feel Like Big Things?"
    Feb 23 2026

Episode 7: "Why Do Small Things Feel Like Big Things?"

In this episode, we look at why certain moments in relationships produce a reaction that feels much bigger than the situation seems to warrant.

A tone of voice, a look, being left on read, or a comment that should not have landed the way it did. When something small sets off a strong reaction, it is rarely just about what just happened. Old pain has a way of attaching itself to present moments, and until we understand that connection, we keep finding ourselves in the same cycle of reacting and wondering why.

We talk about automatic stress responses. That is how your system reflexively responds before you have the opportunity to process it. Your response is real, it is physical, and it is a sign that something needs attention.

I share personal examples from my own journey of learning to recognize when my reactions were coming from old hurt rather than the current moment. Having that awareness changed everything about how I showed up in relationships.

You will receive a tool called Reaction Mapping, which is a practical process for tracing a strong reaction back to its source so you can respond to what is happening rather than what the wound says is happening.

We close with this: understanding your responses gives you back the power to choose how you show up, in every relationship you have.
