Hi! My name is Anagha Balakrishnan and I love animals. I have spent a large part of my childhood in nature and have grown to love it more and more. Over the last 14 years of my life, I have visited nearly every major National Park in India, namely, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Satpura, Sariska, Kaziranga, Tadoba, Ranthambore, Nagarhole, Bandipur, Jim Corbett, Gir, and many more. I have also visited national parks in the USA and Srilanka, Yosemite in the USA and Yala and Minneriya in Sri Lanka.     In the last episode we discussed the impact of deforestation on the lives of animals. For this episode, I have with us today ms. Suparna Ganguly. In 2016, she received the Nari Shakti Puraskar, the highest honour awarded to women in India. She helped found the Bengaluru-based Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) in 1991. She became the honorary president of the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (WRRC), which she co-founded in 2000. In addition to all of this impressive work, she was also appointed a member of the elephant task force in India in the year 2013.
