  • Daily Devotions: The Reward for Suffering - October 4, 2025
    Oct 4 2025
Scripture for Today: Isaiah 61:8–9 (NLT) – “For I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we are reminded when persecution comes, God does not leave His people to suffer alone. Just as Jesus told Saul, “Why do you persecute Me?” (Acts 9:4), we learn that when the church suffers, Christ Himself suffers with us. In Isaiah, God reminds His people: “In all their suffering, He also suffered… He personally rescued them” (Isaiah 63:9). If you have endured persecution because of your faith, take heart—God has seen it all. He suffers with you, He walks with you, and He promises to faithfully reward you. #DailyDevotions #PastorSumrall #CathedralOfPraise #BibleStudy #ChristianFaith --------- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: God Must Convince - October 3, 2025
    Oct 3 2025
Scripture for Today: Philippians 3:15 (NLT) – “Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we learn an important leadership truth: it is not our job to convict people of sin or convince them of truth—that work belongs to the Holy Spirit and to God Himself. Paul reminds us that people can be swayed by persuasive words, deceived by well-crafted arguments, or caught up in empty philosophies. But real conviction and revelation come only from God. Our role is to faithfully present the truth, whether in Go Groups, in personal conversations, or in preaching. If people disagree, we can rest in the confidence that God will make His truth clear in His time. Let’s trust God to do the convincing as we continue to share His Word with boldness and love. #DailyDevotions #PastorSumrall #CathedralOfPraise #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving ------- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: Honoring Good Pastors - October 2, 2025
    Oct 2 2025
Scripture for Today: Philippians 2:29–30 (ESV) – “So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men, for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we are reminded that while some leaders may disappoint, there are faithful pastors and servants of God who truly deserve honor. Paul commends Epaphroditus as a true brother, coworker, fellow soldier, and messenger who loved God’s people and risked his life for the work of Christ. As believers, we are encouraged to welcome such faithful leaders in the Lord’s love, receive them with joy, and show honor for their labor in serving God’s people. When good pastors visit, it should be a moment of gratitude and encouragement, as we recognize their sacrifice and devotion to the ministry. #DailyDevotions #PastorSumrall #CathedralOfPraise #BibleStudy #Scripture #ChristianLiving ------------ Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: How to Make a Pastor Happy - October 1, 2025
    Oct 1 2025
Scripture for Today: Philippians 2:1–4 (ESV) – “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we see Paul’s heartfelt answer to a question many ask: “How can we make our pastor happy?” His response is simple—love one another, walk in unity, and work together with one mind and purpose. Just as parents rejoice when their children stop quarreling and live in harmony, pastors find joy when God’s people live with humility, care for one another, and put others’ needs before their own. This reminder is for all of us today: true joy comes when believers set aside selfishness, serve each other, and live together in the love of Christ. #DailyDevotions #PastorSumrall #CathedralOfPraise #BibleStudy #Scripture #ChristianLiving -------- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E.
