I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we are reminded when persecution comes, God does not leave His people to suffer alone. Just as Jesus told Saul, “Why do you persecute Me?” (Acts 9:4), we learn that when the church suffers, Christ Himself suffers with us. In Isaiah, God reminds His people: “In all their suffering, He also suffered… He personally rescued them” (Isaiah 63:9). If you have endured persecution because of your faith, take heart—God has seen it all.
