  • Following Up Without Feeling Weird
    May 5 2025

What if one of the easiest ways to create more clients this year wasn’t launching something new or overhauling your marketing... but simply getting in the habit of following up?

In this episode, I’m breaking down how not following up might be quietly costing you money — and why following up (when done right) is actually one of the most respectful, professional things you can do for your business. If the idea of following up feels awkward, uncomfortable, or cringey, we’re going to fix that today.

    You’ll learn:

    • Why silence doesn’t always mean "no" — and the real reason some people need a second (or third) nudge
    • The simple mindset shift that turns following up from awkward to just “closing the loop” (and why it builds so much trust)
    • My personal approach to following up without feeling weird, needy, or apologetic
    • The key difference between professional persistence and making it personal
    • The best way to handle ghosting, no-shows, and “yeses” that quietly turn into “nos"

If you want to create more revenue without piling on more marketing or hustle, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

  • Non-sleazy Selling with Copywriter Samantha Burmeister
    Apr 28 2025

What if selling didn’t feel icky… and actually felt like you were helping?
In this episode, I’m joined by another Samantha — Samantha Burmeister, founder of Nomad Copy Agency — for a conversation that will take the stress out of writing copy that sells.

If selling has ever felt awkward, pushy, or like something you’d rather avoid altogether, this will shift your perspective and give you new strategies to implement right away (like, as soon as the episode's done).

We talk about why it’s actually a good thing to be obvious and direct in your copy (even if that feels uncomfortable), how to use "client voice," what AI can do for your marketing, and so much more.

    You will learn:

    • What most business owners get wrong when they try to use client voice in their copy
    • The sneaky mistake that makes your sales page feel flat—even when you “did everything right”
    • The easiest way to stop second-guessing your copy and start sounding like you
    • How to find gold in your sales convos and turn it into scroll-stopping content
    • The one shift that turns “ick, I hate selling” into “wait... this feels kind of fun?”

Ready to write in a way that actually feels good and works?

Listen in for a smart, fun and super practical conversation that will leave you feeling more confident in your message — and probably saying “selling is a service” out loud to yourself for the rest of the day.

  • Think Like a Marketer
    Apr 21 2025

If you’ve ever thought there must be a secret to making marketing feel easy, I get it — but the real secret is this: marketing is work. It’s a puzzle that you learn to solve, and then re-solve, every time the pieces shift.

In today’s episode, I’m challenging the idea that you’re “bad” at marketing and showing you what actually matters more than any strategy, trend, or tool. We’ll talk about how understanding human behavior changes everything, why marketing always involves experimenting (not just executing perfectly), and the three shifts that will help you think — and market — more like a pro.

    You will learn:

    • Why your marketing "not working" doesn’t mean you’re bad at it (and what it does mean)
    • What every single marketing expert is actually doing behind the scenes (even if they don’t say it out loud)
    • The exact questions you can ask yourself to start building better marketing instincts today
    • Where you're already a better marketer than you realize — and how to use it to your advantage
    • Why understanding human behavior will take you further than any funnel, formula, or social media hack

Ready to take the pressure off your marketing and start making real progress? This episode will show you how to think differently, act smarter, and stay out of the self-doubt spiral — so you can market your business in a way that actually works for you.

  • Marketing for Clients Now and Clients Later
    Apr 14 2025

If it feels like you’re doing everything in your business but still not getting the clients you want — this episode is for you.

Because there’s a good chance you’re spending too much time on the wrong type of marketing (the comfortable kind) and not enough on the type that actually moves the needle. Today, we’re talking about the two streams of marketing you need to grow your business - and how most business owners tend to lean too hard into the "slow stream" and end up stuck.

In this episode, I’m breaking down how you can balance your marketing efforts between getting clients now and building a long-term pipeline for clients later. I’ll walk you through why relationship-based marketing is uncomfortable (but crucial), why content creation alone won’t get you where you want to go, and how to find a marketing rhythm that actually fits you — whether you're brand new or years into business.

    You will learn:

    • The real reason it feels like you’re working so hard but not signing clients — and the marketing shift that changes everything
    • What mistake I made early in my business (despite having a marketing degree!) — and how you can avoid it
    • How to spot the difference between comfort zone tasks and client-generating activities (hint: one feels much safer but grows your business way slower)
    • Why tapping into your existing network (even if it feels awkward) can totally change your business
    • Five uncomfortable-but-necessary questions that can unlock way more clients than tweaking your freebie ever will

Whether you're just getting started or already running a six-figure business, this episode will help you refocus on what actually grows your client base — and ditch the busywork that keeps you stuck.

  • Right vs. Wrong Strategies
    Apr 7 2025

What if the reason something didn’t work wasn’t because you didn’t try hard enough—but because it wasn't the right fit for you in the first place?

We’ve all heard the advice: “All strategies work—you just have to commit.” I used to believe it myself! But after years of coaching, investing, and watching what actually happens in real businesses (including my own), I’ve changed my mind.

The truth is: not all strategies will work for you. And forcing yourself to stick with something that doesn’t fit is a fast track to burnout, self-blame, and second-guessing everything.

In this episode, we’re unpacking the “all strategies work” myth and talking about how to actually choose a smart strategy that fits your strengths, your business model, and your clients. Plus, I’ll share what to look for when evaluating courses, coaches, and advice—and how to stop thinking you’re the problem when something doesn’t work.

    You will learn:

    • What I used to believe about strategy (and why I’ve completely changed my mind).
    • The difference between strategies that look good on paper vs. the ones you’ll actually follow through on.
    • The five strategy questions I ask my clients to figure out what’s actually going to work for them.
    • What to do first when what you thought was a good idea doesn’t get the results you wanted.
    • The sneaky way blaming yourself becomes a distraction from solving the real problem.

Whether you're just getting started or already running a six-figure business, this episode will help you choose smarter strategies that actually work for you.

  • How I Get Stuff Done
    Mar 31 2025

I have a full plate—and if you're anything like me, that’s kind of how you like it. Until suddenly, you don’t. In this episode, I’m talking about how I manage running a business, raising three kids, keeping up with a volunteer role that might as well be a second job, and still somehow remembering to moisturize.

Instead of pushing through with willpower or pretending I’m a productivity robot, I’ve learned how to work with myself—my energy, my mood, my motivation—by pulling the right levers. I’m sharing what those levers are, how I use them, and why they help me get things done in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming or unsustainable. It’s simple, real, and yes… involves a little bit of potty humor. Just how I like it 😉

    You’ll learn:

    • The 3 levers of motivation that help me get everything done (plus my silly acronym that makes them impossible to forget!)
    • What clean underwear, Gilmore Girls, and a break from my podcast taught me about motivation.
    • The questions to ask when you’re staring at a task and just can’t make yourself start.
    • Why you don't actually have to have a deep “why” for doing things.
    • Where to look when you think something should be easy, but you’re still not doing it.

If your plate is full (and maybe a little too full), I hope this episode gives you some clarity, a few ideas to try, and at least one good laugh. Listen now!

  • The Time Wasting Cycle
    Mar 24 2025

You know what’s actually wasting your time? Worrying about wasting time.

It’s a sneaky little trap. You tell yourself you need to be more efficient. You overanalyze every decision. You hesitate to take action unless you’re sure it’ll work. And before you know it? You’ve spent hours (or days… or months) thinking about what to do instead of just doing it.

This is the time wasting cycle. And it’s sneaky—because it feels productive. But the only way to create real momentum in your business? Taking action, even when you’re not 100% sure it will work.

The time wasting cycle impacts business owners at every level—whether they’re just starting out or running a fully booked business. The fear of making the wrong move doesn’t go away as you grow… but learning how to move anyway is the skill that will change everything. So on this episode, we’re breaking down why this happens, and the small shifts that will get you out of this loop for good.

    You will learn:

    • Why trying to avoid wasting time is actually the thing that’s wasting your time the most.
    • The question to ask yourself when you catch your brain demanding certainty before you take action.
    • How to tell the difference between “thinking through a decision” and “spiraling into overanalysis.”
    • The underdog mindset that helped me grow my business faster.
    • A fun visual from the San Antonio Spurs (yes, basketball wisdom!) that will completely change how you see consistency in your business.

So if you’ve been telling yourself, I don’t want to waste time on something that might not work—this episode is exactly what you need to hear. Hit play now!

  • This Shouldn't Be So Hard for Me
    Mar 17 2025

Have you ever found yourself frustrated that something in your business feels harder than it should? Maybe it’s marketing, selling, setting boundaries, or just keeping up—and you catch yourself thinking, Why is this so difficult for me when it seems so easy for everyone else? If so, you’re not alone. This is one of the most common thoughts my clients have. And the worst part? The more you believe it should be easier, the harder it actually feels.

In this episode, I'm unpacking the sneaky ways self-judgment keeps you from finding helpful solutions. I’ll walk you through a 4 step process to move from stuck and shaming yourself to self-compassion and problem-solving. I'll break down the layers of judgment that make things feel even harder than they need to be, how to shift out of resistance, and why the solutions that actually work for you probably won’t look like what you see other people doing. Plus, I'll share some unexpected life hacks (sticker charts aren't just for kids!) and the moment I realized I could no longer be trusted to remember anything without a system.

    You will learn:

    • My 4 step process to help you tackle hard things in your business with more ease and less self-judgement.
    • The sneaky thought that will instantly make things more difficult for you (and how to catch yourself before falling into this trap!)
    • The simple exercise you can do right now to start showing yourself more compassion (instead of being your own worst critic)
    • The surprising solutions my clients have used to make overcoming business challenges simpler (proof that whatever works, works!)

If you’ve been feeling stuck in frustration, thinking you should be able to work through something on willpower alone, this episode will give you the permission—and the process—to be kinder to yourself and make things easier. Tune in now!
