In July of 2020, 18 year old Grant Solomon was found lifeless under his pickup truck. His father being the sole witness. Or was he? Either way, the police chief has yet to identify what he says were other witnesses. As in, not at all. The only thing we have is Grant's father's account of his death - that an independent forensic team has deemed impossible based on the orientation of Grant's body in relation to the truck and the parking lot. You may also want to look into employees at the school he attended with his sister, Gracie. The church their father attended, to include local politicians and small time celebrities. Remember that Tennessee, where the Solomon's lived, is a "mandatory reporting" state. By his sister Gracie's own admission, she visited more than one staff member during her time as a student to report the specific abuse she was suffering under her father's care. Yet not one of the employees reported her claims. There is so so much more to it all, to which I would encourage you to watch Season 2, Episodes 24-26, to fully understand the interwoven grief, manipulation, power grabs, elbow rubbing, and at the very least, inept investigations. But now sadly, we have a very large update to bring you. Angie Solomon, the tireless defender of Grant's death, and safe keeper of Gracie as she approaches adulthood, mother of both, is facing a very different life now. On a hilltop in rural east Tennessee, puppies and kittens ran amuck, grandma lived close to the family, and five year old Summer Wells had to crawl down a dark ladder to her mattress on the floor in the basement.In June of 2021, Summer's mother assisted her grandmother to the doctor with the companionship of a 15 year old male family friend. After visiting the drug store, vape shops, a grocery store, and local watering hole, the group heads home. Not long after that, Summer vanished and has never been seen again. Amongst a broad reaching investigation, allegations began to fly. Where exactly were Summer's three brothers that entire day?Was her father at work as claimed? Or was it all part of a plan that he took the car with GPS that day?Why was the princess loving child's head shaved days before?There is a litany of criminal history between Summer's mother, father, and grandmother- including crimes against children. Coincidentally, these were the last adults to see Summer. And now, they no longer have custody of their other three children.Is this just terrible irony? That Summer was surrounded by adults with such dark pasts? Or were the ones bound by blood to protect her, the ones who did the opposite? "We heard a woman scream at just after four this morning."

Her apartment was left unremarkable, outside of the raised toilet lid. That sticks out simply because she lived alone. But the parking lot near her car? That is where a struggle ensued.

Jodi Huisentruit was an accomplished golfer, social butterfly, and anchorwoman with KIMT studios in Iowa. She had aspirations that grew larger than the town of Mason City. She had a wide social circle, and was recognized most places she went. But in the summer of 1995, she may have been recognized by the wrong person.

Investigators follow up on a welfare check to find her shoes, earrings, and other belongings strewn near her beloved new car. Including drag marks and a bent key.

In a case cold for nearly three decades, the suspect list is potentially narrow. Yet once again this is a case that highlights the evil that lurks among us as we go about our days.
