Hey there, music lovers! Let’s talk about a jam that really turned some heads back in the day—“Turned Away” by Chuckii Booker. This was 1989, and it was Chuckii's debut single that shot right to the top of the Billboard R&B chart, locking in the number one spot for a whole week!

You see, Chuckii, he's got that smooth voice that just pulls you right in. It was just something about his voice echoing through music and singing the words “Turned Away From Love”. You can hear him belt out the heartfelt words “Turned Away From Love” and you feel every bit of that emotion. When he sings, it’s like you’re right there with him, feeling the highs and lows of love.

But Chuckii's not just a singer; he's a real musical powerhouse! He plays a bunch of instruments, writes songs, and even produces tracks. He’s from Los Angeles, and he rolled onto the scene in the late '80s, thanks to his godfather, the legendary Barry White, who signed him to his production company back in '84. Talk about starting off on the right foot!

Before going solo, Chuckii was part of a band called Tease, where he rocked the keyboards for three years. So, when he finally dropped “Turned Away,” it was like a big reveal of all his hard work. And while it made waves on the R&B charts, even making it to number forty-two on the Hot 100, it’s that soulful vibe and richness in his voice that we remember the most.

Today we’re going to talk about the sensational duo Air Supply and their timeless hit, "Even the Nights Are Better!" Released in 1982 as part of their iconic album *Now and Forever*, this track is the embodiment of soft rock romance!

Oh, you can just feel the air in the room shift when that melody kicks in! Who among us hasn’t felt that heartache? You know, the kind that leaves you questioning everything, wondering where love has gone? Well, let me tell you, that’s where Air Supply comes in—like a gentle sunrise after a long, lonely night!

The song captures those deep emotions with lines that connects with anyone who’s ever been lost in the labyrinth of love. "I was the lonely one, wondering what went wrong..." Doesn’t that take you back? We’ve all been there, but then comes that moment of magic when someone special walks into your life, and suddenly—boom!—your nights just got a whole lot better!

What I love about “Even the Nights Are Better” is that it’s an anthem of hope! It tells us that even when the days can be tough, having that special someone by your side can illuminate even the darkest nights. Just listen to that soaring chorus! “Even the nights are better, now that we’re here together!” Who can resist belting that out at the top of their lungs?

This track was a chart-busting phenomenon, spending a glorious four weeks at the top of the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, and reaching a peak position of No. 5 on the Hot 100. That's right, folks—Air Supply was riding high with their seventh consecutive top five hit! A record for the ages!

So, as you tune into YouTube tonight or any night, let “Even the Nights Are Better” sweep you off your feet! It’s a reminder that in the realm of love, the lows only make the highs feel that much sweeter.

With its smooth rhythm and gentle disco vibes, it assures us that though love might have slipped through our fingers this time, there’s always a sparkle of hope waiting just around the corner.

"Son of a Preacher Man" is a song recorded by British singer Dusty Springfield in September 1968 for the album Dusty in Memphis. It became an international hit, reaching no. 9 in the UK singles chart and no. 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 in January 1969. The album Dusty in Memphis was released in stereo, though its singles were remixed and released in mono.

"Son of a Preacher Man" was Springfield's last Top 30 hit until 1987, when her collaboration with UK synthpop duo the Pet Shop Boys yielded the huge hit "What Have I Done to Deserve This?". "Son of a Preacher Man" found a new audience when it was included on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's 1994 film Pulp Fiction; a re-release of the single reached number one in Iceland in 1995.
