  • Psalm 27 part 1
    Jan 11 2026

In this opening message from Pastor Hugh Chalk on Psalm 27, we examine David’s song written in the midst of crisis, revealing a faith that moves between confidence and struggle, much like our own, looking at the first three of seven deliberate choices he made:

To fear not, placing his confidence not in himself but in God as his light, deliverer, and stronghold.

To pursue God, making his primary desire not immediate rescue but relationship, longing to dwell in the house of the Lord.

To seek God’s presence, in the “day of trouble,” hidden in His dwelling and set upon the rock.

This message invites us to make the same intentional choices when facing our own crises.

  • Psalm 1
    Jan 4 2026

Pastor Hugh Chalk preaches from Psalm 1, beginning a new series looking at the book of Psalms.

As we arrive at a new year, Psalm 1 invites us to consider what a truly “blessed” and successful life looks like from God’s perspective. This psalm draws a sharp contrast between the righteous person who delights in and meditates on God’s Word, and the ungodly person who follows the world’s thinking and drifts further from God. The blessed person is like a tree planted by streams of water: rooted, nourished, fruitful, and sustained through every season, while the wicked are like chaff blown away by the wind. This message reminds us that the path to real prosperity is found not in worldly wisdom, but in saying “no” to sinful influences and saying a deep, daily “yes” to God’s Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to shape and strengthen us for whatever the coming year holds.

  • Advent 2025 part 4
    Jan 4 2026

Preaching from Luke 2:22-40, our final Advent Sermon from Pastor Hugh Chalk.

In this final message of the Christmas season, we’re invited to slow down after the celebrations and ask an important question: now that Christ has come, what happens next? Reflecting on Luke’s account of Simeon and Anna at the temple, we’re reminded that Jesus’ birth is not the end of the story but the beginning of God’s great work of redemption. Simeon and Anna had waited faithfully for the Messiah, and when they finally saw Him, they recognised in this child the light, salvation, and hope God had promised, not just for Israel, but for the whole world. Their response calls us to consider our own: will we simply pack Christmas away, or will we let the presence of “God-with-us” shape our lives, our relationships, our faith, and our future?
