  • The Downside of Hero Worship
    Nov 22 2025
For years now I have warned people about the very real downsides of hero worship, how it clouds our judgement and makes us susceptible to the whims of scam artists, snake oil salesman and cult leaders. It is, without question, one of the very real problems that we have in society today. It could be the worst problem that we have today. If you are always looking to some concept of a perfect human being to inform your every action and direction in life, they will eventually steer you off course. It is not a question of if, but of when. It will occur. It is inevitable. This does not have to be because of malice. There often is not a conspiracy to misinform folks. It often occurs in a way that is organic and unintentional. Someone may truly believe, for example, that women are inferior to men. They may find this observation to be correct because the women they have interacted with in life have not been as intelligent or moral as they are. But this observation is, of course, anecdotal and incomplete. There is not enough factual information to support this claim. I have to recognize that lack of data when I am interacting with a hero of mine that gives me bad advice, otherwise I will be misled into a world of misogyny and ignorance. I will not become wiser because of such information, but instead I will close myself off to a whole world of knowledge from some very smart women. The easiest way to avoid being misled in this way is to avoid having heroes altogether. That is not to say that I think I am better than everyone else or that I do not acknowledge anyone's talent. I only mean to say that placing an individual on a pedestal as if they are somehow set apart from the rest of us normal humans is a huge mistake that needs to be rectified and, really, abandoned altogether as an acceptable societal practice. There is no need to worship any man or woman for that matter. It serves no purpose other than gleaning bits and bytes of stories and quotations that one uses to motivate themselves, and, if I so desire that form of motivation, all I have to do is read from the internet or a book. The person who wrote down that motivating information is irrelevant because, inevitably, for every few things they are correct about, they will most certainly be wrong about something else. This is the main reason that, when you go to college, they encourage you not only to have references, but also to check the quality of said references. Who owns the publication. Who are the shareholders. In what nation is the publication based. Who is providing the funding. What are the political leanings and biases of all the parties involved. What are their various political affiliations attempting to accomplish. What is it that they are wishing me to take from this article, and, most importantly, why. The average person is not consuming information in this way. They find someone that, for whatever reason, they trust or like, and just assume that they are a good source of information. This is incorrect. Even someone with good intentions can engage in fallacious thinking that leads them to the wrong conclusion. Further, it is incorrect to assume that everyone has mostly good intentions. The internet in particular is full of folks motivated purely by the need for more money and power. That is not to say that money and power will always lead to be bad, but it is to say that it often does. We should be concerned only with the truth when it comes to information that is given to us by those we like or respect. It does not matter if we may want to agree with them out of some sense of awe of their talents. When the time comes, and they are wrong, we must be able to call them out on that. We cannot be silly and look at all the others around us agreeing with that person because of hero worship and simply follow the herd. We have to access our individuality. The same goes for when they are correct as well. We cannot disagree with them just to be unique or contrarian.

  • The Weak Mans War on Women and Femininity
    Nov 20 2025
We have all heard of the male loneliness epidemic by now. We have not had much of a choice but to hear about it because, well, the news has drilled it into our skulls in a similar way that they made an entire generation fear millennials and marijuana. It seems as if everywhere you look, the male loneliness plague is taking over the headlines of newspapers and the nine o'clock news. Author Shannon Carpenter states, We hear a lot these days about men not finding the kind of deep friendship that helps them through the ups and downs of life the way many women do...In the United States, many men have become disconnected from the societal institutions that have anchored dads to each other and our community. These are compelling words to be sure. There is no doubting that. They steer you toward this kind of empathy for men in general. But the question then becomes why. Why are men experiencing this loneliness. As a man myself, initially I wanted to point the finger at society. It becomes quite easy to say that women do not pay attention to me enough or that women in human resources are conspiring against us men folk to create a more feminine working environment. It is always easier to blame an enemy than it is to own up to your own failures as a human being. But the truth, as always, is much more complex than that. I truly believe that if you were to completely remove feminism from society today that most men would still be lonely because men themselves have always struggled with creating meaningful relationships. I can recall very vividly the first time I really tried to show affection to my father, and how oddly hesitant he was to receive it. I was seven or eight, still quite young at the time. I remember my dad sitting on an old green recliner we had at the time. My mother was there too. I had just kissed her on the cheek, which I had always done, and figured I would kiss my father as well for once. After all, he took care of me too. I wanted to show him I appreciated that just as much as I did my mother. After I kissed him, he gently pushed me away, saying, okay Chris, as if to say, that's enough of that. Don't do that again please. And you know what. I didn't. It was embarrassing being pushed away like that, having someone I loved essentially tell me that I was loving him the wrong way. Men do this all the time. They do it with their sons. They do it with their friends when they call them gay for giving them a hug. They do it to their lovers when they push them away when they try to cuddle with them. They do it acquaintances and coworkers and political adversaries when they mock everything that is even slightly feminine or refer to women in negative ways. The message is clear. Get away from me. I hate love and companionship. I view those things as being anti male and do not desire any of them. Leave me alone. In short, you get what you ask for. If you are going to communicate to the world that you are a closed off, go it alone, emotionally unintelligent individual, then you are going to be lonely. There is no way around that and you, my dear man, brought that on yourself. You see, male loneliness is not new. It was handed down to us by our fathers and their fathers before them, men who used words like gay and queer to describe any physical form of affection outside of a hearty handshake. But I have good news for you too because loneliness is also a choice. You can choose to be in a healthy emotional relationship with those in your community by simply dropping the alpha male shit or the longer introvert act. Just knock it off. Recognize that you are human being who needs care and affection, that that stuff is not just for girls. And if you want a woman, for crying out loud, be respectful and treat them like they are more than just your concubines. There are solutions to every problem, especially the ones you create for yourself. You are addicted to loneliness. Question is, are you willing to admit that you have a problem.

  • The Coming Blue Wave
    Nov 17 2025
Believe it or not, midterms are just around the corner, so it is just about time for me to make my biannual election predictions for Congress and it is not looking great for conservatives to say the least. After suffering several losses across the country this year, there is no reason to believe that it will get any better a year from now. The economy, by nearly every metric, is the worst it has been in several decades. That alone is a key indicator for the incumbent party will fair in any election, but especially in Congress where economic is molded into law before being sent to the president for his seal of approval. Job losses are now in record territory. Inflation remains high. And, perhaps most jarringly, Americans are now defaulting at levels not seen during the Biden administration on thigs like student loans, car payments and credit cards. Voters came out in full force to reject Bidenomics and, unfortunately for them, it is starting to look like doing so was the wrong choice. Obviously, I argued that conservatives had no idea how to deal with such a volatile economy last year during the elections, but the reality is that there is very little you can do to convince voters that things can get any worse when they are already bad. The truth is though that things very much did get worse and, in all likelihood, will continue to worsen while conservatives are in charge. It is just a fact that, for all their downsides, Democrats have always done better when it comes to the economy. Sure, they can be annoying, elitist and even unsavory, but liberals know how to make money and keep the working class afloat. It is what they are best at. Once conservatives lose their three branch super majority to a blue wave next November, the sitting president will be a lame duck, powerless to really do much more damage to an already reeling American workforce, though his kangaroo supreme court and serial executive orders will still be able to cause them even more pain, that pain will be greatly dulled and since there will be a lot of folks hurting and very little action coming from the White House to prevent it, a Democrat will likely sail into office a few years from now. This all could have been prevented had Trump taken a smarter approach to the economy, even just avoiding archaic and, frankly, ridiculous methods like imposing tariffs on neighboring countries just because you are mad at them would have staved off a great deal of suffering for the average small business owner and consumer alike. But we all know by now that MAGA is not known for moderation. They are always overdoing it and shooting themselves in the foot. It is kind of how they operate. They cannot help themselves. But the modern right is not just MAGA. There are more moderate members, like certain Christian sects that tend to vote conservative to avoid things like taxes and just out of moral obligation to their values. They are not necessarily the kind of folks who are trying to take over the world like Steve Bannon. They just disagree with things like gay marriage or legal cannabis. This more moderate section of the right is very unhappy that MAGA has embraced groypers. If you do not know what that word means, you will soon because they are very much the future of the modern right and they are even more extreme than MAGA. This openly racist group looks takes the phrase America First and essentially applies that to a white Christian nationalist mindset. MAGA is not just composed of white folks. They are definitely in the majority, but there are black, brown and Jewish members of MAGA as well. Groypers are no fans of Jews. In fact, Nick Fuentes, the oddly mixed-race leader of groypers, who, believe it or no, happens to have Mexican ancestry, has been extremely hostile to Israel, a hot button issue that has divided many conservatives on whether or not it is right for Israelis to continue to receive funding while white Americans starve. It is all coming tumbling down.

  • America and the Hatred of Immigrants
    Nov 15 2025
The conservative urge to clear the nation of all those branded different is nothing new, not in America, not anywhere. Conservatism is, in many ways, nothing more than an attack on everything that is different. That could mean difference of opinion, difference in ideas, difference in clothing, in sexuality, identity, race, and, yes, even nationality. Often times well meaning, and not so well meaning, folks make the mistake of thinking that they will be able to work together with conservatives to reach a common goal. That, must like a cowboy who breaks a roving mustang to save it and himself from extinction, it will be able to reign in the nastier sides of conservatism, the hatred, the rage, the exceptionalism, and ride off into the sunset. Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. There has never been a time in human history when conservatism, when allowed to roam free, did not run amuck. Conservatism, at its core, is a hunter for authority over everyone and everything. The lust for power runs deep in humans in general. Conservatism is merely the tool that is used to convey that lust for power. It comes to you nicely at first, asking you, would you not like to feel safer, my friend. Would you not like to be able to walk outside without seeing all those scantily clad sluts and whores. Would you not like to walk to your car without seeing all those dirty homeless folks on the sidewalk. Would you not like to be able to order your food from a man who speaks your own language. Would you not like to attend the same church as everyone in your community. Would you not like to live with folks who look just like you. Is it really such a crime that you want these things, my friend. Look at other countries. Do they not live in communities with their own kind. Do they not dress modestly. Do they not have respect for the one true god. Do they roam about as the savages do or do they conform to the higher authorities. You know the answer, my friend, and I can be that answer for you. I can clean up the streets. I can make you safe. I can you make proud to be American again. These questions creep into the mind much like the allegory of Satan tempting Jesus. Remember that it was Satan that promised Jesus all the things in the world. Jesus, the representation of good in the story, never offers the world. He only offers love. Love is free. Love does not require acts of service. It is unconditional. It is always there for those who wish to indulge in it. This is how, the story goes, that Jesus beat Satan, not with armies, but with love. Humanity struggles with love. They do not give it freely. They demand acts for it. Humanity has very much forgotten the goodness of Christ. Instead, humanity has chosen to go the way of Satan, the conquering, marauding, foolhardy being who wants more and more and more, and is never satisfied when he gets it. Make no mistake, conservatism is Satanic. Satan never comes to you in his own form. He comes as guardian, a bringer of peace, a bringer of light. Satan hates man and seeks to destroy him, and to do this he uses men's own hatred and fear of each other to turn them against one another. Turn on any conservative show right now and you will see what I mean. You are to be afraid of the stranger, the alien, the foreigner, the immigrant, for, according to the conservative, they are coming to destroy your wealth, to take your job, to end your life. And no, I am not so naive as to think that all immigrants are innocents. No one is innocent, not even the small child who steals your cookie when you are not looking. But did Jesus not love the little children. Did not Jesus love the stranger, the homeless, the forgotten. Conservatism corrupts Christianity and uses it as a tool to obtain power. It captivates and hoodwinks its followers so much that they can no longer tell good from evil, very much like Satan. I do not hate the immigrant for the immigrant is me and I am him. It is a tale as old as time.

  • Trump Calls Americans Untalented
    Nov 13 2025
I always knew that Donald J. Trump was not friend of the working man. Born in a privileged upbringing, Trump has spent his whole life seeking ways to do what only those born into privileged upbringings know how to do, make money. Whether it was his flirtation with the gambling world, the world of boxing, his long time in Hollywood, or his obsession with one day becoming president, the Donald never really had any interest in making the world a better place. He simply wanted to squeeze as much money out of it as he could. And, really, that was to be expected. After all, Donald is nothing more than your typical elitist New Yorker, the kind of man who thinks he should shit on gold toilet seats and nosh on oysters Rockefeller during Great Gatsby theme parties. There is no doubting that such a man is nothing more than a con artist, a man who enters politics to build his own wealth, not build wealth for the society as a whole, not for future generations to come. But Donald was able to effectively brainwash the right into believing his stories of a better tomorrow for the American working man, much like the man he supposedly hates, Barrack Obama, was able to essentially fool the left that a change was finally gon come. Obama was at least able to deliver a healthcare system that sits at sixty-five percent approval rating and also presided over an administration that was able to mostly normalize gay marriage. So, though he was unable to bring about the sweeping change he promised, Obama was at least able to keep the country from financial and social ruin. Trump has been nowhere near as successful, and his base is, finally, starting to notice. Inflation has remained high and even worsened during the orange man's second administration, and, regardless of what conservative propagandists say, there are no signs that it is coming down in the near future. Affordability was the main reason folks voted for Trump a second time and it seems like every time I go to the buy anything, I am seeing massive price increases, the likes of which are not even comparable to anything we saw under Joe Biden. Americans saw a brutal October in terms of job loss as well, seeing job cuts reach its highest level in twenty-three years, and America have its worst year of layoffs since the financial crisis of two thousand and nine. Fox News is known for its right wing bias, but even fox news anchor Laura Ingraham was forced to press Donald harder than usual due to these regressive figures. Conservative voters believe that H1B work visas for those overseas should be suspended so that jobs could be freed up for Americans. I am not saying this would actually work. That is just what they want. Ingraham asked Donald if he would halt those work visas and he responded with a clear and resounding no. His voters were stunned. Was not this the man who said he was for the working man, for a return to a traditional America where every average Joe had a shot to own a home and raise a family on a single income. That is the main thing conservatives wanted from Donald, but now here he was essentially telling them that was not going to happen. The conservative fast talking head Ben Shapiro repeated this sentiment on his show, stating that Americans simply move if they cannot afford to live where they were born. This was not what conservative voters were promised. Here we have two conservatives essentially resorting to liberal talking points, saying that Americans don't deserve to live wherever they want or even to get the job they want. I am not necessarily saying that I completely empathize with the conservative voter here. I am just pointing out that they were lied to, tricked, fooled, led astray, rum amuck, hoodwinked, bamboozled. It appears as if no one is actually fighting for the average Joe. I knew this since day one. They are just lying to him so they can win big in November. I always knew this was where things were heading. The question now is where we go from here.

  • Senate Democrats Cave to Republicans
    Nov 10 2025
Eight Senate Democrats stunned Americans Sunday night by making a deal with Republicans to reopen the government. Well, it is kind of difficult to refer to it as a deal because, generally, the whole point of a deal is get something out of it, but the Democrats got nothing at all in return for selling millions of Americans down the river. Instead they got a promise to hold a vote at the end of December on extending the Affordable Care Act subsidies and, of course, even more money for the military. I do not know about you, but I do not trust that this imaginary vote on the ACA will ever take place, and, before you start in with the be more positive old chum nonsense, I have good reason to be so cynical. When asked if this vote to extend the ACA would occur, good old Mike Johnson stated that he was not sure that it would, which, if you know Mike Johnson, is a resounding no. Accepting a promise from republicans at this point in history is downright foolish. Republicans ritualistically break their promises and will just tell outright lies to get what they want all the time. If find it difficult to believe that grown adults actually think they will ever be able to come to the table with conservatives and do anything when they are not the majority party, and that make me believe that this whole shutdown effort was insincere from the start. I have stated for years now that moderate Democrats are just conservatives by another name, that they have no interest in helping working class or poor Americans, and they proved that yet again Sunday night. The Democrats won on historic levels on Tuesdays election. They had the support of the people for this shutdown. There was no demand to end it. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or stupid. The Affordable Care Act remains one of the most popular pieces of legislation to pass congress in recent history and the party that fought for that would have been remembered for years as the people's party, but instead Democrats chose to be the arty of capitulation. This deal making is an exercise in weakness and frailty. It does not exude the strength that is required to make a good leader. Chuck Schummer is currently being defended online by his very small number of cult followers, but make no mistake, this is his fault. He is the Senate minority leader. It is his job to lead. He failed and should be removed from his position as a result of this, which, of course, will not happen because establishment Democrats enjoy their weak, frail, feeble little leader because they get to boss him around whenever they please. Dick Durbin, one of the eight Democrats who voted in favor, is also the minority whip by the way. It is the whips job to get votes when needed. He also failed to do his job by allowing the arty to side with Republicans on the issue instead of forcing them to side with Schummer. Both of them have failed the American citizenry and I will not stand idly by and pretend they are doing a great job any longer. They have failed us yet again and this time I am not going to be nice about it. These guys are supposed to work for us, not for Donald Trump. If we are in favor of keeping the ACA, then that should be their priority. Most of us are not flying all over the damn country because we cannot afford to. I and many others like me do not care if some rich folks cannot get to Cancun on time. I also am not in the military. I do not care if some guy gets paid to kill little children overseas. I am not in favor of these forever wars that just result in more death and destruction and foreigners who want to kill me, nor am I in favor of these ICE raids that are terrifying innocent folks across the country. The only reason I even vote Democrat is to fight republicans but if the Democrats will not even fight these sociopathic conservatives then I struggle to even know what I am voting for. The next time you are wondering why Democrats lose so much, all you have to do is remember this disastrous day.

  • Respect Your Elders
    Nov 9 2025

We are instructed to respect our elders at a very young age, and that message is repeated all throughout our lives, but, coming from an upbringing where my father was constantly verbally abusive of both me and my family, I have always taken that advice with a grain of salt. These days, I do not even have to look back to abusive behavior of my often violent father, I can simply at the world around me to see that the old folks do not know how to run a society all that well. Our elderly resident Donald Trump is now toying with the idea of fifty year mortgages to fix the housing crisis, an idea which, to be honest, is better than nothing, but is not something that will ever lead to home ownership for most folks. I guess maybe their kids may own that home in their forties, but is that really the best we can do. I have to leave my kid a home that can claim ownership of at thirty five. That is just the beginning, of course. Our judicial, legislative and executive branches of government are filled with old timers. Chuck Grassley is actually in his nineties, which, I am sorry, is just crazy no matter how you slice it. Nancy Pelosi just retired from government in her eighties. Mitch McConell is still stumbling onto the senate floor when he is clearly no longer fit to do the job. Our not so supreme court has a median age of like sixty five. I could keep going but you get the point and you have likely noticed what I am saying yourself, but the term ageist came into favor a while back so you have likely been too afraid to say something about it. There have been times when I have felt awkward criticizing the age of others and their ability to get the job done, and I still would if the country were heading the right direction, but the evidence clearly shows that it is not. Socialism is rising in popularity because inflation is out of control. Small businesses are becoming liabilities, not investments, as our elders lace their faith in outdated economic policies like tariffs which make it even more difficult for small companies to compete with conglomerates. Tariffs literally caused the great depression, but these old fogies are thinking it will work this time. Folks are lined up at food banks because the old guys still think that you can just save for a few weeks and afford groceries and a car and a house. Diseases that were once thought extinct are now coming back in fashion because the very old and very crazy RFK Jr. has informed everyone that being healthy means bathing in raw sewage and doing heroin after sitting in the sun for hours on end. We are literally being led into a new dark age and all the folks in charge are old. There was a time, believe it or not, when respect was earned, not freely given because the bible told us that was a good thing to do. If all you get from respecting someone is a ridiculous society that has no real way of sustaining itself, then I struggle to understand why I should have any respect at all for such people. You cannot keep expecting everyone to follow such outdated concepts when al they get for it is heartache and suffering. There has to be some kind of payoff beyond just feeling good about yourself for a few minutes. But even if you get beyond the state the world is in, even if you put out of mind the fact that boomers essentially lived like kings their whole lives and now have told everyone else that they should be content to live in scarcity, there is still just the fact that sometimes older people are just...mean. My father was case study in this. He was always and mean old man. I think he may have been born that way.

was no reason for him to yell at me every single day of my formative. I cannot remember one day where that man did not yell at or ridicule me. He was also a drunk and his drunkenness led him to threaten to murder my mom with a rifle he kept in his closet one night. I tell that folks who I get in a discussion with about this concept and they are shocked and horrified now.

  • Democrats Win Big on Election Night
    Nov 6 2025
In a stunning and rather devastating upset to the conservative establishment, Democrats won and just kept on winning on November 4th. They won so much that not one conservative was able to win their race against a Democratic challenger. This, of course, sent various conservative figures and talking heads into a panic, and, when conservatives panic, they show their true colors. Donald Trump led the bitch fest, stating that mail in voting should be outlawed. Mind you, mail in voting is very popular across political demographics but conservatives do not care what you want. They only care if they win. This whining, and outright refusal to take responsibility for their very unpopular economic policies continued with calls the require voter ID. Voter ID was, of course, outlawed because it was being used by conservatives to prevent those in poverty from voting, which, at the time was largely the black population. The strategy of marginalizing those different from them and then making laws that further prevent those marginalized individuals from practicing their rights never changes with conservatives. It is a tale as old as time. But the conservative crybaby festivities did not end there. Twitter talking heads also entered the fray, with losers like Daniel partridge stating that the 19th amendment, that is what granted women the right to vote by the way, should be repealed. Many of their conservative followers concurred since it was women who largely voted Democrats into office. They will tell you, of course, that the only reason they want to make women subservient to men is because they care about them, which is the exact same thing abusers say in relationships. Relax honey, I am only mean to you because I care about you. There was also the tactic of fake outrage often employed by the conservatives, notions that a white genocide is coming, that the evil blacks and Latinos are getting together to destroy the white man, a truly fascinating assertion considering the fact that blacks and Latinos voted for conservatives in record numbers only one year ago. But that is to be ignored. Facts are always to be ignored when they do not fall in the conservative direction. There was also talk Jay Jones statement about conservatives, stating that anyone who would vote for someone who says mean and vile things is also mean and vile. This is also very interesting considering the fact that conservatives spent the last week calling everyone who does not make six figures a year a lazy, moral degenerate welfare queen who deserves to either get a fourth or fifth job or suffer and die. The right, of course, will never recognize that their messaging is simply unpopular now, that they have failed to deliver the goods economically and so have fallen out of favor in a way very similar to the Democrats last year. This is how democracy works. When the majority loves you, you are riding high, and when they do not, you are unemployed. Maybe this is why conservatives try so feverishly to argue that America is not a democracy. Maybe the fact that they actually have to do well in their position, not just call everyone moral degenerates, makes them sad. But who cares. Who cares how conservatives feel. I know I do not. We have had to listen to them complain about their feelings for too long now, and prior to that all we ever heard from conservatives was that our feelings do not matter, that they are irrelevant, that only facts matter. Well, now the tables have turned and the facts show that conservatives are losers once more. They even lost to a Democratic socialist in the form of Zohran Mamdani. They could not even win with their everyone but me is a Muslim communist Antifa demon rhetoric, even that did not perform well with the electorate, and instead of doing the intelligent thing and taking stock and changing to meet the needs and desires of the electorate, they are currently shaming the electorate, calling them foolish for voting the way that they did.
