    Today we are joined by Dr. Zo Kreager, whom is a trained geologist with a research focus on how geologists visually perceive diagrams and best practices for teaching university level geoscience courses. She has won the outstanding graduate teaching assistant award twice and is currently an Assistant Professor of Geology at SUNY Oneonta.

    She has published numerous articles like "Seeing Like a Geologist: How Expertise and Context Impact Frame-of-Reference Judgments" & her latest being featured in Geosphere from the Geological Society of Americca about how "Spatial skill predicts success on sequence stratigraphic interpretation."

  • Siria Ysabel Bojórquez - Environmentalism, Energy, Real Estate, Living Abroad, TV Hosting

    Siria Ysabel Bojorquez is a first generation, highest ranking, cum laude honors bachelor’s degree graduate from Texas Tech University. She also holds a Master’s in Green Energy, Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility from Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy.  Her former employer positions include, working for the US Department of Education under TRIO, working as an environmental and international policy intern for former congressman Beto O’Rourke, and being a PBS Kid’s Club TV Host (where she directed and stared in educational science clips).

     She has held several pageant titles all of which originated from her passion for sustainability. United Nations and Peace Corp Representative for 24th World Miss University, Miss Teen Earth United States (2010), Miss Earth United States (2012), Miss Lubbock Texas USA (2014), Miss Multiverse (2016) and Miss Sun City for Miss Texas USA (2021).   

     She has had several research publications including one on the United States Agency for International Development’s Food Aid program and the Environmental Services Department in Texas. She is trilingual, has experience in over 25 countries and is a proud environmentalist.

  • Gabrielle Sousa - Renewable Energy, Activism, Traveling, and Climate Change

    Gabrielle Sousa is a Brazilian living in Berlin, Germany. She holds a Bachelors in Civil Engineering, two MBA’s, one in Management and the other is in Business Law, and she holds a  Masters of Science in renewables. Gabi is an avid explorer visiting over 70 countries and is a researcher in energy law, solar energy, and decarbonization. In addition, she is an advocate for climate justice, inclusion and diversity, and the decolonization of the climate discourse. Today, we are discussing her past research of halite perovskite solar cells, activism, being a women in a male dominated field like construction and engineering, and much much more!

  • Tea Qendrai - Economics, Sustainability, and Beekeeping

    Tea holds a bachelor in economics and a masters in Marketing from the University of Tirana in Albania. She moved to Bonn, Germany where she pursued her second masters in Governance and Regulations at the University of Bonn where her international experience truly began. After her studies, she focused on a career in ESG, Environmental, Social, and Governance topics, where she worked not only for the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) but other international organizations as well. Currently, she is working on sustainability topics within the renewable energy industry. She also has a passion for beekeeping and looks forward to being more involved with this in the future and producing high quality honey!

  • Madeleine Smith - Bioarcheology, Actually Interesting History Podcast, & Mental Health

    Madeleine Smith is a classically trained bioarchaeologist who has worked at several dig sites across the globe. She has earned dual undergraduate degrees in Anthropology with a specialization in Archaeology with a minor in History and Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University. She now runs her podcast Actually Interesting History which allows her to share her love of history and culture with others. She is also a speaker for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and will also be competing for the title of Miss Ohio USA this spring!

  • Mary-Kate Smith (MK)- Aerospace Engineering and TheRocketeerLady

    Mary-Kate Smith holds a Bachelors and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State University. She specializes in Mission Design and Digital Engineering. She has worked in NASA Mission Control supporting the astronauts on the International Space Station, developed digital engineering structures for drones, and has climbed around Navy submarines supporting Mission operations for Trident Missiles at Lockheed Martin. Currently she works at Emergent Space Technologies as an aerospace engineer continuing her digital engineering work. She is passionate about STEM outreach and has recently started a YouTube series called TheRocketeerLady, where she tells stories of her experience as a woman in industry. A subset of the series is The DeltaV podcast used to amplify women and other minority voices in STEM.

  • Rachel Stottmann - Engineering, Art, STEAM, & Tread the Red
    Sep 6 2021

    Rachel Stottmann is a Civil/Environmental engineering student at the University of
    Louisville’s JB Speed School of Engineering. Rachel will graduate in May 2022 with her second
    Bachelor’s degree. She previously graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in drawing and painting. Rachel is a huge proponent for the outdoors and has started a project called “Tread the Red” that focuses on the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Her love for the outdoors and hiking were key in her decision to continue her education
    in the world of Civil/Environmental engineering and also her sole purpose for creating Tread the Red. The project has been an outlet for her to share her experiences at Red River Gorge and highlight stories of the people who make up the amazing community. Rachel is a huge supporter of “STEAM” – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics – and hopes to connect with the outdoors and others through her Civil/Environmental engineering path combined with her artistic side. Tread the Red is a project to spark curiosity, imagination, and exploration. Come with us as we "hike through" Rachel's life!
