In this bible study, we cover Matthew 5.1-12 looking at the Beatitudes. The Beatitudes are a list of 8 statements from Jesus, each with a promise. “Blessed” - happy, joyful, on the right path- is the person who follows each of Jesus’ calls. This includes a call to be poor in spirit, to mourn our sinful state, to be meek, to thirst for righteousness, to show mercy, to be pure of heart, to be a peacemaker, and to rejoice in persecution.The Beatitudes are a progressive ladder, with each separate step being critical to understand before attempting the next step. Some of the steps are easier for some than others, and that's ok, but we need to take these one at a time, and do our best to follow Jesus’ call. Keeping in mind that on our own, without the help of the Holy Spirit, we are not capable of any of them.

STEP 4 - Have a hunger to see people with a right relationship with God. Hunger for people to be saved.
