In this weeks episode I dive into why this is the case. We have a living hope and we have a lot to be expectant for. No one is saying it's easy but it's worthy of trying. So, grab a cup of coffee and let's conversate!

  • From Childhood Dreams to Korean Adventures (2 Years Abroad)
    Aug 24 2024

What if a childhood fascination could transform into a two-year adventure halfway across the world? This episode charts the journey from an eight-year-old's curiosity about Asia to an adult's decision to teach in South Korea. From the moment a friend's passion for Big Bang and G-Dragon sparked a deeper interest, to the meticulous planning and prayers involved in making the dream a reality, each step is filled with a mixture of excitement and hurdles—including a memorable 22-hour layover in the Middle East.

The first year in South Korea was a whirlwind of friendships and explorations. Listen in as I recount the heartwarming encounter with a kind Korean woman on an escalator, the chaotic yet exhilarating arrival at the airport, and the comfort of hearing English when least expected. Amidst the initial challenges of adjusting to a "ghetto" apartment, lifelong bonds were formed during orientation, leading to extensive travels across South Korea and the joy of making international friends.

Living abroad comes with its unique set of challenges, from the thrill of seeing snow for the first time to grappling with the cultural pressures of South Korea's perfectionist society. This episode delves into the mental health struggles that many expatriates face and underscores the importance of a strong support system and personal faith. Reflecting on my own relationship with Jesus, I share how it has been instrumental in navigating these difficulties. Wrapping up the episode, I encourage you to trust in the Lord’s plan for your dreams and goals, sharing personal experiences of faith's transformative power and a message of gratitude and excitement for the future.

So grab a cup of coffee and let's conversate.

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks episode of Manoah : Place of Rest. This week I will be diving into the 5 things I have learnt and unlearnt living in a foreign country. I have had to take inventory and accountability; and as uneasy as it has been, the decision to move forward has been worthwhile. I hope that this episode will be an eye opener and will serve as an invitation to sit on down and to be honest with Christ and with self about all the different things you should be tackling that are holding you back from living the abundant life Christ lived and died for you to live.

So sit on down, grab a note book and a pen and allow the Lord to speak to you as you listen to these words of encouragement.

So, welcome to my little corner of the internet! Welcome to Manoah, A Place of Rest.

  • Are You Focused?
    Feb 18 2024

In this weeks episode of Manoah - Place of Rest, I dive into the topic of distractions and how they are a powerful tactic from our enemy to keep us and/or delay us from the things Jesus created us to do on the earth. In this episode my biggest desire is to encourage you, the listener to take inventory of the things that are taking your eyes away from your God-given assignments. And yes, that's right, I truly believe that every single one of us were created with great purpose, but with that comes a great deal of responsibility. We serve a loving God, but He also has plans and needs our co-operation to fulfill them, not that He needs us, but He wants us to partner with Him to see them played out on the earth. We have a task Jesus left us to accomplish. He said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations'. If you are honest with yourself, are you doing that? Are you currently focused on the things that God has called you to do? And if the answer is no or not yet, what's stopping you? Where is your attention? Let's get serious. As the world pushes its own agendas, let us push back with Christ's agenda!

So sit on down, grab a note book and a pen and allow the Lord to speak to you as you listen to these words of encouragement.

  • Forgiveness is hard....but essential
    Feb 11 2024

    Send us a text

In this episode, I take a deep dive into the profound concept of forgiveness. Acknowledging it's complexities, I explore it's indispensable role in our spiritual growth within the context of our faith journey. Join me as I dissect the detrimental effects of holding onto grudges and the transformative power of releasing them to the Lord. My aim is to initiate a dialogue on the importance of confronting these emotional barriers before they corrode our well-being. So, let us all embrace the liberating act of forgiveness, allowing ourselves to be unburdened from the weight of the pain and embrace the light burden Christ promised to give us.

With every episode, my biggest desire is that we grow closer in intimacy with Jesus. I pray that this episode is a blessing to you. I hope that with every single episode we will continue to journey together in this beautiful thing called life.

  • Back2Basics

In this episode we are taking it back to basics. We are answering the question why it is that we are Christians and why is it that Jesus had to come and die for our sins. Jesus desires a people who have counted the cost of being His followers. A people who know what they are getting themselves into, when they say they desire to live and believe in Him. The Lord desires that we offer our lives as a living sacrifice unto Him. To not be a lukewarm Christian, but to be a sold out Christian - sold out to Him. But to be this, we need to know what His life, death and resurrection mean for us.

With every episode, my biggest desire is that we grow closer in intimacy with Jesus. I pray that this episode is a blessing to you. I hope that with every single episode we will continue to journey together in this beautiful thing called life.
