• Like scuba diving, in life, when we have challenges, we need to lean on a buddy. So reach out, take small steps, and find a buddy.
• You can't do new things in an old way.
• Acknowledgement and winning is validating, especially when you do your work alone and don't know if it's impactful.
• Find what makes you happy and do it. It is much easier with the internet to find your people.
• Travel lets you learn new things and gives you the opportunity for perspective.
• You can have a travel experience without ever getting on a plane. Explore your own city.
• Be kind to yourself. It's easy to label yourself a failure, but we don't call a baby a failure when it's learning to walk.

Her adventures include polar bear walking safaris in Canada, twice taking a polar plunge in Antarctica and experiencing thrilling safari encounters with Africa’s Big Five. Lisa is also a sought-after international speaker and the host of the podcast Make your Own Map!

I drove up from Los Angeles in a Nissan Armada to join the summit as a featured travel expert, sharing my journey as an explorer, author, TV host, and travel journalist who’s visited over 100 countries on all seven continents. From my Telly Award-winning storytelling to my memoir Brave-ish, my mission is to inspire others to step boldly into the unknown and embrace the joy of reinvention. The focus of the summit was road trips and budget travel, exploring how to make adventures accessible, fun, and memorable.
