We have all grown up with stories from nursery rhymes, fairy tales, and jokes to getting invested in the narratives of books, plays, and films to the telling of anecdotes. What we don’t often talk about are the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. We do not look at who or what has created the subconscious scripts we are acting out in real life. If we listen carefully, however, we can not only explore our narratives but also rewrite them.

Dee Allen, FRSA, is an integrative coach and positive psychology practitioner who works with individuals, communities and organisations to replace unhelpful stories with transformative, empowering narratives. She uses evidence-based interventions including therapeutic writing to facilitate change. Dee has an MA in Screenwriting and an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology.
