Ep 309 Ed Herman BEFORE the UFC

Dive deep into the raw origins of UFC veteran Ed "Short Fuse" Herman - The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 runner-up, a middleweight powerhouse with 26 official UFC bouts (plus his TUF Octagon appearances), 13 wins inside the promotion, and an impressive eight post-fight bonuses, including Knockout of the Night, Submission of the Night, Fight of the Night, and Performance of the Night honors. As the UFC's longest consecutively tenured athlete, his journey is legendary.
From his gritty Pacific Northwest roots, wrestling under the influence of Dan Gable's legacy, to grinding at Team Quest alongside legends like Randy Couture, Matt Lindland, and Chael Sonnen, Ed shares untold stories of his pre-UFC wars against future stars like Glover Teixeira and Nick Thompson.
Now retired after a storied career spanning 2003-2023, he's giving back as owner of Short Fuse Martial Arts in Vancouver, WA, and coach at American Top Team Portland, mentoring the next generation.
