On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) to break down the Panthers 4-1 loss to Toronto, where it was the Leafs bottom six getting on the board in the first eight minutes of the contest. The same line of Dakota Joshua-Nicholas Roy-Bobby McMann were the ones to convert on the night as they created the first two goals. Already without Carter Verhaeghe due to the birth of his child, the Cats were once again playing catch up as it's another multi-goal deficit, which now they are at the second most across the NHL. Florida was able to cut it to a one-goal game scoring short handed on the Leafs five-forward power play, thanks to Sam Reinhart, who skated in his 800th career game. Florida was unable to create space in the offensive zone, get to the inside and make life on Joseph Woll difficult, and were consistently losing draws on the evening. Panthers continued a push into the third period, but a failed clear from the Gustav Forsling-Aaron Ekblad pair did not allow Sergei Bobrovsky to freeze the puck and Scott Laughton provided the insurance goal to out the game away prior to the Leafs adding another one on the empty net. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) to break down the Panthers 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers as Philadelphia scored four unanswered after the Panthers took a 2-0 lead, including two in the final minute to deny the Panthers a chance at any points. Sam Bennett stayed hot as he got a two assist night, and Carter Verhaeghe with a second consecutive game with a goal after going 13 games without scoring a goal. Florida however struggled to create any more separation, especially on their power play where they had a tough time gaining the blue line. They were able to dodge a couple of Flyers opportunities as they had almost a handful of odd man rushes, but couldn't connect to the net. Florida also couldn't connect on net on their passes cross ice in their offensive zone, and it kept the Flyers within distance. The Flyer goals in this game had one thing in common, getting guys to the net front to create screens and deflections, and the combination of that and Florida losing their board battles cost the Panthers from getting a single point. Now they are on the outside looking in regarding a playoff spot. With thanksgiving being a big barometer, is this an outlier season regarding that? We go over recent history and what the point pace would need to be in order to qualify for the postseason. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Langsam of Panther Pourri to break down the Panthers 8-3 win over the Nashvillw Predators, as the Panthers set the tone from the start 11 seconds into the game, and out skated the Predators to shoot-in's, loose pucks around the crease, and scored multiple goals in transition. It was all about the Panthers speed and Nashville was not able to keep up. It's the second straight Monday where the Panthers put up eight goals, but this one might be more impressive, as all the goals came at even strength (one at four-on-four) and the Panthers chased Jusse Saros after scoring the fifth goal. Panthers momentum was not stopped after taking a 2-0 lead, and even though the Predators tied it at two, Florida scored two more before the end of the first. Multiple Panthers had three-point night's as AJ Greer led the way with two goals, now one goal away from a new career high, Carter Verhaeghe broke a 13-game goal drought, and Sam Reinhart stayed hot. Daniil Tarasov was not able to get goal support in his first four starts, but now the Cats have scored 14 in his last two as he got win number two on the season. We discuss out three stars of the game, when we knew the game was won, and their thoughts on the tease that USA Hockey put out for their jersey announcement on Wednesday. The Panthers will now return home for a six-game homestand where they have an outstanding opportunity against teams who have either missed the playoffs last year or are in major danger of missing them this year.
