The Orlando Magic again fell flat with a poor defensive effort as they continue their run of inconsistent play.

The Memphis Grizzlies blitzed them early with another hot-shooting start that did not dissipate. The Magic never fully reeled the Grizzlies back in and their stars failed to deliver consistent scoring to stabilize the team as they fell further and further behind.

The team is still struggling to find the one thing they can count on. Not even their ability to get to the line or the rim has been consistent lately and that only further puts the team in a deeper hole.

The Magic return home from Europe with a split but still with loads of questions as they begin the second half of their season.

Anthony Black made the dunk heard 'round the world as he split two defenders to dunk over four Memphis Grizzlies players to break a tie and guide the Orlando Magic to a 118-111 win in Berlin.

Black's audacious dunk and confident play overall are reminding the Magic of their formula for success -- their physical defense, their confidence and their boldness to play. The Magic found pieces of it in erasing a 20-point deficit and taking an 11-point lead of their own. And they found it again to pull away to get the win late.

The Magic also got to celebrate Franz Wagner's return to the lineup and homecoming in Berlin. He made several key plays in the fourth quarter to secure the win and give the Magic consecutive wins for the first time in more than a month.

The Orlando Magic pushed all their chips in for Desmond Bane this offseason. It has not panned out exactly how they hoped it would. Bane has yet to regain his shooting form and the Magic are not maximizing his shooting yet.

But the trade has unequivocally been successful for the team. Without Bane, the Magic's season would have easily gone off the rails. And while Orlando has leaned on his playmaking and scoring more than his shooting, Bane has delivered enough to get the Magic to 22-18 and stay in the race to achieve their goals.

For the Memphis Grizzlies, the trade has not quite panned out. It has restocked them for a rebuild that seems inevitable as Ja Morant trade rumors fly about. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has continued his struggles from his lone season with the Magic.

Franz Wagner’s imminent return has Orlando Magic fans buzzing—will his presence be the spark Orlando needs to regain their edge in the Eastern Conference?

The Magic have treaded water at 8-8 since Wagner's injury. Their offense and defense have both taken a nosedive from their early-season successes. Orlando needs Wagner to help stabilize the lineup and get them back on track.
