  • Family Values: “Be Quiet” - The Unspoken Rule
    Mar 30 2026

This episode centres on the 'deep' impact of intergenerational family values particularly within the black Caribbean community; and how these values can perpetuate cycles of silence, emotional suppression, and trauma.

The speaker reflects on personal experiences of being invalidated, shamed, and subjected to both emotional and physical abuse; highlighting how such upbringing leads to long-term mental health struggles, difficulties in relationships and a pervasive sense of isolation.

There is also emphasis on the need to break these cycles by fostering open dialogue, validating emotions, and building supportive communities for those who have felt marginalized or unloved.

The speaker calls for collective healing, accountability from older generations, and the creation of this inclusive space where individuals from all backgrounds can find acceptance, understanding, and genuine connection.

  • 'No One Should Leave this World Without A Village'
    Mar 22 2026

In this episode, I continue the conversation around chosen kin, belonging, and why meaningful human connection matters more than many people choose to admit.

We often hear that 'family is everything', but for many people family has meant distance, dysfunction, grief, absence, or emotional disconnection - it never materialised. So what happens next, when the connection you long for was never fully there, or no longer exists?

This brief continuation episode, explores the idea that people should not move through life without warmth, presence, and people they can genuinely call their own.

Kin Village is about building chosen family; sister-like bonds, brotherhood, elder guidance, familiarity, trust, and the kind of belonging that develops naturally through sincerity and time.

Recorded outdoors and intentionally raw, because my authentic thoughts come to me best in 'real' surroundings.

A village can begin with one honest conversation...

  • Chosen Kin: This Is Day One
    Mar 22 2026

    This is the beginning.

In this first episode of Kin Village, I speak openly about why I believe family can be built — not always by blood, but through trust, presence, belonging, and genuine human connection.

Recorded outdoors on a quiet spring walk, this first conversation is intentionally raw and unpolished, because Kin Village begins in truth, not perfection.

For anyone who has ever felt emotionally disconnected, 'unseen', 'unsupported', or quietly longed for 'deeper connection', this space is for you. For the ones who have 'loved and lost', this is for you.

Chosen kin. Chosen community. A village built with intention.

If this resonates, you are already part of the conversation.

    This is day one.
