    Oct 8 2025

    Send us a text

Grief doesn’t just arrive on anniversaries or in the big moments. It weaves itself into the ordinary rhythms of daily life 'that' cup of tea, an empty chair, a familiar walk.

In this episode, I share how grief continues to show up in my everyday routines, and how I’ve learned to meet it with gentleness rather than resistance.

Together, we’ll explore simple practices, naming, pausing, and adding kindness. These can help us carry grief without being consumed by it.

    ✨ What you’ll hear:

    • Personal stories of grief in everyday moments.
    • Gentle approaches to meet daily grief with compassion.
    • Practical practices and rituals to soften its presence.
    • Reflection prompts to explore in your own life.

This episode is an invitation to notice grief not as a setback, but as a sign of the love that still lives on in us.

Tune in now and take a gentle step toward carrying grief with care.

    Send us a text

After returning from retreat, I share the rituals and renewal practices that help integrate grief into daily life with intention.

    What you’ll hear:

    • Why rituals bring comfort and continuity in grief.
    • Practical ways to create rituals for healing and meaning.
    • My own renewal practices inspired by Marbella and beyond.

    Reflection prompts:

    • What rituals have I already used, knowingly or unknowingly, in my healing?
    • Which small ritual calls to me right now, is it lighting a candle, a walk, a journal, or something else?
    • If I were to design a ritual today, what intention would I want to set? (pause, allow time for reflection)

Remember, there’s no right or wrong answer. This is for you.

Every ritual, no matter how small, is an act of love and care for yourself.

  • JWJ Episode 35 - Grief...what it really looks like
    Aug 27 2025

    Send us a text

Janey highlights that Grief is more than the death of a loved one.

    Grief can come from:

    • The loss of a pet
    • The end of a relationship
    • Retirement or career change
    • Illness, or a change in health
    • Even the loss of a dream, or the life we thought we’d have

    Reflection Questions for Listeners

    • Where might grief be present in my life right now?

Think beyond bereavement, changes, endings, transitions, unfulfilled dreams.

    • What signs has my body or energy been showing me that I might be grieving?

Fatigue, numbness, irritability, lack of motivation, restlessness?

    • Have I been invalidating my own grief by telling myself it “shouldn’t” hurt?

If yes, what would it feel like to simply say: “This is grief, and it matters.”

    • What still matters most to me right now, even in the midst of change?
    • What’s one tiny act of care I could offer myself today?

A walk, a rest, a conversation, a cup of tea or hot beverage of your choice in peace?

35% of new gym members quit within 3 months, sticking to the vows is about as tough as sticking to the treadmill.

Why am I sharing this stat, well Monday marked my 25th Wedding Anniversary and only 35% of marriages make it to 25 years. Whilst I am a widow and no longer 'officially' married in a legal sense, I did celebrate.

Monday marked the life and love that I shared with Jonathan, not just the passage of time. The 25 years we built together are still mine, real, meaningful, and worthy of honouring. A love that still exists. I now guide people on their own journey of rediscovery following a loss and I know I have used this example of my anniversary today but Grief can be so many other things the list is endless, the loss of a pet, a car, a job, retirement, relationship, the life you had planned there are many more these are just a few that come to mind.

Grief is unique to each and every person and sometimes we look for other explanations as to why we are feeling like we are when it is grief. I help my clients to take small simple steps to create a meaningful life after loss.
