The horror femininomenon continues into the new year with a horror comedy situationship. I went into this completely blind and absolutely loved it. Sophie Thatcher is a great leading woman/final girl and Jack Quaid is too good at playing a “nice guy.”

I’m talkin’ about a pillar of horror cinema and its heir. Legacy sequels have been in full swing for a good number of years but very few stick the landing. Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep is big, deep, and dark. The only man that had what it takes to make such an ambitious follow up to Kubrick’s work.
