In this episode, Tina chats with Grace Finn and Colette Keohane, who are both CT radiographers and practice educators at the North Central London Imaging Academy. We explore CT radiography – a form of imaging that uses X-rays and computer technology to create detailed 3D images of the body.

Grace and Colette share their journeys into radiography, what a typical day in CT looks like, and the skills involved in working with patients, from cannulation to communication. They discuss the challenges and rewards of the role, proudest achievements – including award-winning simulation training – and their passion for education.

  • Episode 2: Mammography
    Oct 28 2025

In this episode, Tina talks with Yvonne Thackray, a Clinical Academic Radiographer with over 30 years of experience. Yvonne was previously the Academy Lead for the North Central London Imaging Academy, and is a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University.

We explore mammography – a type of X-ray used to check for breast cancer. Yvonne shares how she got started in the field, what a typical day looks like, and what progression looks like. Tune in to hear her reflections on a varied and rewarding career — and her advice for anyone considering this important and evolving specialty.

Correction: In this episode, it was stated that during a contrast-enhanced mammogram, the injection site is the nipple. This is incorrect — the contrast agent (iodine) is injected into a vein in the arm, not the nipple.
