Are you a lawyer who is looking to become a firm owner in the future? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer podcast, Tyson engages in a conversation with Jayden Doye, a CPA and business owner, who shares their journey from a financially constrained upbringing to establishing a successful firm.

Transitioning from employee to business owner comes with a lot of hard work and lessons learned. Jayden speaks to the need for coaching when going from working for a firm to owning and operating a firm. Using a sales funnel, Jayden learned through coaching the importance of using social media, like Facebook to market to potential clients. Though coaching takes time and money in investments, it can turn you into a high valued attorney down the line.

Coaching has also helped Jayden change his thinking when transitioning to a business owner. One of the things he changed was the need to niche down to lawyers. It is important to try to understand early on what type of law you want to get into. From that point, you network and talk with lawyers in that space to understand how best to work in that space.
