  • The Yoga Show with Jodi Fischtein and Signy Gissuradottir
    Oct 4 2025
On this episode of Finding Your Bliss, we have a show devoted to yoga and meditation. Celebrity Interviewer and Bliss Coach Judy Librach is joined by yoga instructor, Jodi Fischtein as well as the owner of 889 Community, Signy Gissuradottir. Jodi Fischtein is a certified yoga instructor in Toronto and has been practicing yoga since 2000. Jodi began to consider yoga teaching training in 2007, and then began the slow journey to share what she has come to love. She received fundamental training (250 hrs) in Vinyasa and Hatha at The Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto in 2007-08 followed by PreNatal Yoga training. In 2010, she began her second training in Venice Beach, California to study the core modules of Prana Flow. She remains deeply grateful to studying with the founder of Prana Flow, Shiva Rea. In understanding Prana Flow methods, one can express the sequencing as kramas (stages) that lead to one’s full expression in asana. That year Jodi went to Kerala, India with Shiva Rea to understand local Ayurvedic customs, as well as Kalarippayattu, an ancient South Indian martial art tradition. As Jodi nears the completion of 500 hours in Prana Flow Yoga, she continues to serve both her personal practice and her students. In March 2014 Jodi immersed herself in the Mysore tradition for Primary Series at Purple Valley Yoga in Goa, India under the guidance of Petri Räisänen. This discipline also had an effect on her strength and agility. Today she humbly practices Ashtanga 4-5 times per week. Jodi also believes deeply in the cumulative benefits of Yin yoga. She began studying the concepts of TCM and Yin yoga with Tracy Soghrati in Toronto in 2011 and she has completed Phase 1 of Thai Yoga massage as she feels it brings a healing touch for hands-on adjustments for students in her Yin and Vinyasa classes. Jodi received her B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing at New York University and she is currently completing certification in Applied Specialization in Mindfulness Meditation at the University of Toronto. 889 Community is a female-led wellness studio and boutique that has been rooted in connection, growth, and authenticity since opening its doors in 2007. Its mission is simple: to welcome each person exactly as they are and help them feel truly at home in the space. At 889 Community, home means feeling respected and encouraged. It’s found within the body—both in and out of practice. It’s a space where meaningful connection lives and where real people come together to support one another. The teaching team at 889 Community is the heart of the studio. • Dahlia Paul and Amy Polevoy
    Sep 27 2025
On this episode of Finding Your Bliss, we have a show devoted to fashion and Toronto’s first ever large scale luxury resale shopping event. Host Judy Librach is joined by Amy Polevoy, the Style Heiress, and event creator of the upcoming Angels Wear Preloved: The Luxury Resale Show, featuring vendors like Dawn’s award-winning Rewind Couture. Rewind is Toronto’s premier destination for luxury designer resale. Rewind offers women a curated collection of coveted designer women’s wear, up to 90% off retail. Shoppers get exclusive access to the elite closets of Toronto and the glamorous runways around the world. Rewind will be bringing a collection of over 100 pieces from designers such as Chanel, Brunello Cucinelli, Balmain, Fendi, Gucci, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta and much more. All items will be 70-90% off regular retail prices. Also on the program and featured at the event is The Restylist, Dahlia Paul! For years, Dahlia Paul, was the founder of Restyle/Renew, a boutique dedicated to helping women refresh their wardrobes. With a background as a teacher for 18 years, Dahlia naturally gravitated toward guiding and educating her clients, helping them understand not just what to wear, but why. Restyle/Renew was her first step into creating a curated fashion destination. Today, Dahlia has rebranded and elevated her vision as The Restylist. This new chapter is rooted in her lifelong inspiration from the arts and her family: theatre and music outings with her parents. And not only were her grandparents professional musicians, her 99-year-old grandmother always embodies timeless style. With this rebrand, Dahlia focuses on one-of-a-kind, experience-driven styling where exclusivity, individuality, and artistry are at the heart. Each appointment is more than shopping—it’s a curated, personal experience, designed to make every woman feel confident, elevated, and truly seen. Also on the program is Amy Polevoy, also known as The Style Heiress. In high school, Amy Polevoy discovered a deep love for vintage shopping and she was drawn to the thrill of finding that perfectly unique piece that set her apart. Whether it was a distressed pair of Levi’s, a patchwork jacket, or a tooled leather belt with an ornate buckle (a style signature she still leans on today), Amy quickly became known for her elevated fashion sense. She was a regular at Winners—Canada’s version of Saks Off Fifth—scouring the racks for designer deals. For Amy, there were few things more exhilarating than the hunt for a bargain. Although she fell for the trends of the time (BIG STAR Jeans and INDIAN MOTORCYCLE baby tees included), she always held out for the big sample sales where she could maximize her budget. As her wardrobe evolved, so did her reputation among peers—and unfortunately, so did her anxiety issues, which began in her teens and would become a lifelong companion. During university, Amy worked at Mendocino, one of Toronto’s most coveted fashion destinations. As a store manager, she received a $750 clothing allowance every quarter and 50% off everything else. For Amy, it wasn’t just a job—it was a jackpot. Customers asked to shop with her by name, and her friends constantly reached out for fashion advice. Her confidence—and passion for the fashion industry—continued to flourish. In her twenties and early thirties, Amy held respected positions with some of Canada’s most influential media brands, including Tribute Magazine, MuchMusic, and MTV Canada. She had the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, including Jamie Salter, now the founder and CEO of Authentic Brands Group—a powerhouse in the global fashion space. Amy’s final role in the corporate world was, to her, the ultimate dream job: working at FLARE, Canada’s #1 fashion magazine. Surrounded by the best in the industry, she found validation not only in her work but in her personal style, which continued to earn admiration. But when Rogers Communications made the decision to shut down FLARE as ...

  • Wendy Valentine
    Sep 20 2025
On this episode of Finding Your Bliss,Celebrity Interviewer and Bliss Coach Judy Librach is joined by author of the new book “Women Waking Up: The Midlife Manifesto for Passion, Purpose, and Play,” Wendy Valentine. Wendy Valentine is author of Women Waking Up: The Midlife Manifesto for Passion, Purpose, and Play and host of The Midlife Makeover Show, which is a top-rated podcast for women in midlife. Wendy helps women kick fear to the curb, reignite their spark, and wake up to what’s possible. Wendy says that midlife isn’t what it used to be. Today, nearly 60% of Gen X women describe themselves as stressed out and grappling with debt, caregiving responsibilities, marital dissatisfaction, hormonal shifts, declining health, and career burnout—often all at once. The old mantra of “just push through it” no longer suffices. What’s missing is a modern roadmap tailored to the unique challenges and aspirations of today’s women. Enter Wendy Valentine — host of The Midlife Makeover Show podcast and author of the upcoming new book Women Waking Up: The Midlife Manifesto for Passion, Purpose, and Play (New World Library, September 9, 2025), which redefines midlife not as a crisis, but as a powerful opportunity for reinvention. “The steps I had to take to become a happier, healthier, and more peaceful woman were delivered to me in a vision — a crazy, out-of-the- blue vision of me driving an RV across the country,” writes Wendy. “Driving an RV across the country seemed really crazy, but staying stuck in the same cycle of pain and misery seemed even crazier. I realized that either road would take a ton of effort, so I might as well put my energy into building a better life for myself.” Like millions of other women, Wendy entered midlife plagued with a host of seemingly insurmountable problems: unemployment, divorce, anxiety, a mountain of debt, the death of her brother, and chronic illness. In Women Waking Up, she draws from her transformative journey of making her RV dream a reality to offer step-by-step guidance readers can use to go from the point A of angst to point B bliss. At the heart of the book is Wendy’s empowering seven-step F.R.E.E.D.O.M. process — a practical and inspiring roadmap that empowers women to create their own midlife makeover. Her signature tool called the Wheel of Midlife helps readers assess where they are in key areas of their lives — family, finance, health, career, friends, love, leisure, and growth — and choose where they want to go next. “After years of dedicated research, deep soul-searching, and a transformative journey that awakened my superhero, I’ve crafted the ultimate guide to help you experience your own revival,” writes Valentine. “So get ready to fly high and harness the power within. Your superhero is ready to leap back into action, and the world is ready to be amazed by what you’re capable of.” Join us this Saturday at 1 PM on Finding Your Bliss.
