Episode 6 - Erica J Mitchell

  • Resumen

  • Erica J Mitchell is a Portland-based photographer who sees light differently.

Her journey started at age three, tagging along with her father, a studio portrait photographer, along the scenic shores of Monterey Bay. That early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for capturing people in their best light - literally.

With a BFA in Photography and Design from The Art Institute of Portland, Erica specialises in natural light headshots and brand photography that helps professionals stand out while also supporting their well-being.

She’s not your typical photographer - Erica is deeply curious about the physics of light and the unseen effects of modern tools.

She’s discovered that holding a camera up to the eye and snapping the shutter can generate over 30 milligauss of EMFS directly to the pineal gland - a hidden hazard few in the industry talk about. Her natural light approach isn’t just an artistic choice — it’s a health-conscious one.

While this is her first podcast, she’s no stranger to public connection - she once hosted a local folk radio show. Clients love her laid-back energy, intuitive eye, and ability to make even the most camera-shy feel confident and seen.

When she’s not behind the lens, Erica’s likely surfing the Oregon coast or gardening her wild, untamed backyard.
