ABOUT THIS MESSAGE:
Hail the King who humbly comes to save us! For 1700 years the church has celebrated this festival opening Holy Week with hosannas and palm branches. The time for Christ’s glory has come. But he will not gain his glory in the manner of other kings. Rather, he would humble himself in great acts of love for us to save us. His choice of a donkey to enter Jerusalem was humble, but his actions were not. With his actions, he proclaimed, “I am the Lord’s Servant, the Messiah long promised. I have come to save you.” The statement was heard loud and clear, and the crowds appropriately acclaimed him to be the Messiah.

ABOUT THIS MESSAGE:
“I believe in the resurrection and the life.” That is the crown jewel of Christianity. Today the church is reminded to remember and treasure the value of that truth. One day, Jesus will defeat the last enemy and life will reign again in our new Eden with God. On our Lenten walk to Calvary, the church sees the Savior come face to face with death and defeat it completely. Because Jesus did, the Son of God can offer us resurrection, the crown jewel of Christianity. One day, Jesus will give our dead back to us – body and soul, living and laughing and walking and talking in the new heavens and the new earth. That’s the crown jewel of Christianity, and it doesn’t cost us a thing.

ABOUT THIS MESSAGE:
The Old Testament always said that the blind receiving their sight is a sign that the dawn of the Messiah has come. Today, we see the Messiah heal the physically blind and the spiritually blind. We were all born in the blindness of sin, and without the light of Christ we cannot find a way to safety. Christ comes to us to shine his light into our darkened eyes so that we might see him and live. For those who refuse to see Jesus as their Savior, the blindness of unbelief remains. He gives gracious sight to those who trust in him and displays the work of God in the lives of those who now walk in the light of Christ.
