Didn't Go Platinum is the podcast that looks at the unloved and the overlooked from the world of heavy metal. We ignore the classics and instead, focus on the lesser-discussed gems. Whether it's a rarely mentioned entry from giants like Iron Maiden, or a relatively obscure British thrash band's forgotten comeback, we're interested. Where other metal podcasts look at Rust In Peace, Painkiller and Number Of The Beast, we'd rather discuss Five Serpents' Teeth and Dance Of Death. • S3, E2: When Worlds Collide by Maroon
    Jan 20 2026

Didn't Go Platinum travels to Germany, circa 2006, to look at what may be the best metalcore album that most of you have never heard of: it's When Worlds Collide by Maroon.

Joining regular host Tim Bolitho-Jones is the one and only Dazz Freeman of the Bangers And Mosh podcast. The lads talk everything from veganism to mosh calls and that absolutely killer bit where Maroon go full power metal for around thirty seconds.

They also mercilessly rip the piss out of Brokencyde.

You can follow Didn't Go Platinum on Instagram and Threads at @dngplatinum or email us at dngplatinum@gmail.com

You can find Dazz on Instagram.

And you can check out When Worlds Collide itself on Spotify.

No we don't mean Maroon 5, this is definitely not about Maroon 5.

  • S3, E1: The Harvest Floor by Cattle Decapitation
    Jan 13 2026

New year, new series: Didn't Go Platinum returns to look at more unloved and underrated metal albums, and we're starting off with some vegetarian death metal.

Host Tim Bolitho-Jones is joined by Ebony Jeanette to discuss The Harvest Floor, the 2009 release by Cattle Decapitation. This album has gone overlooked in favour of their later work, but is an important transitional work and a major piece of the Cattle Decapitation puzzle. Discover why it deserves more love.

There's also a brief chat about their very first release, the all-but-forgotten demo Ten Torments Of The Damned.

You can find Ebony on her home website and if you're a parent, be sure to check out her recently released metal-themed colouring book.

I can also recommend her guide to surviving the Music PR Industry, and not just because it has a shark on the cover.

  • S2, Episode Twenty-One: Heaven That Dwells Within by Wormwitch
    Dec 3 2025

Didn't Go Platinum goes all grim and frostbitten as we head into winter. Regular host Tim Bolitho-Jones is joined by Brother Paul of the Menn Metal Mayhem podcast to discuss Heaven That Dwells Within by Wormwitch.

This Canadian band delivered the goods on their stunning second album, but for some reason never got the credit they deserved. Maybe it's because Canada isn't the place folks look for their black metal? On this episode, Tim and Paul take a deep dive into a freezing, but surprisingly fun slice of black 'n' roll.

You can find Paul and the Menn Metal Mayhem podcast on Instagram and Spotify.

You can follow Didn't Go Platinum on Instagram and Threads at @dngplatinum or email us at dngplatinum@gmail.com

And of course, you can find Heaven That Dwells Within on Spotify too.

    Listen to heavy metal.
