Mickey Fitch-Collins From Bass Fishing to Breakout Rooms: How Human Connection Fuels Learning

Mickey Fitch-Collins is not your average leadership skills facilitator. With a PhD in Leadership in Higher Education and a career that spans academia, educational technology, and corporate learning, she brings what she calls the “goods, bads, and uglies” of learning and development into every conversation.

Her leadership philosophy was shaped early. At 14, she wasn’t living a typical teenage life. She was teaching adults two to four times her age how to fish, running seminars, working expos, and learning how to connect across generations long before most people give their first presentation.

That foundation deepened in college when she stepped into student leadership in September of 2001. Two weeks later, 9/11 reshaped her understanding of leadership in real time. That moment still informs how she thinks about responsibility, care, and human connection more than two decades later.

She went on to spend her career in higher education, from frontline roles to the C-suite, blending academic rigor with real-time, one-to-one support. And like many people, she experienced what she calls not just the Great Resignation, but a Great Discernment, leading her into learning and development work where she now helps people get better at their work, one relationship at a time.

  • A Year-End Reflection with Ben Gay III
    Dec 31 2025

A Living Legend Reflects: Ben Gay III on Sales, Influence, and Enduring Success

As we close out the year, we wanted this episode to be about more than tactics or trends. Today is about legacy.

Sitting with me is someone who is considered a living legend in the world of sales. My co-host, Ben Gay III has spent decades not just participating in this profession, but shaping it. He’s seen eras change, philosophies evolve, and standards rise and fall—and he’s remained grounded in what truly lasts.

Ben has been mentored by Dr. Napoleon Hill, worked alongside some of the most influential people in the world, and built a career that spans generations. But what matters most today isn’t the accolades. It’s the experience behind them.

So this conversation isn’t about teaching. It’s about remembering. It’s about the moments, the people, and the lessons that formed the man behind the reputation.

As we close out this final episode of The Closers Inner Circle Podcast for 2025, we want to pause and say thank you.

SPONSORED BY: Entrepreneurship can be exhilarating, but it’s also complex, demanding, and sometimes isolating. That’s where the right mentor makes a real difference.

David L. Brown brings more than advice. He offers perspective shaped by experience, helping entrepreneurs avoid costly missteps, make clearer decisions, and stay focused on what truly matters. The right guidance can save time, energy, and unnecessary frustration while supporting smarter, steadier growth.

If you’re ready for that level of support, particularly as we enter a new year, connect with David at www.DBrownCompany.com or on Linkedin and tell him we sent you!

You don’t have to build alone — and David is ready to walk the journey with you.

    ----------

Thank you for listening, for thinking along with us, for sharing these conversations, and for being part of this community. You give meaning to every story we tell and every lesson we explore. This podcast exists because you show up with curiosity, reflection, and a desire to grow.

As we look ahead to 2026, our wish for you is simple and sincere. May the year ahead bring you clarity where you’ve felt uncertain, strength where you’ve been tested, and moments of connection that remind you why the work you do matters. May you carry forward what serves you, release what no longer does, and step into the new year with confidence and purpose.

We’re grateful to walk this path with you, and we look forward to continuing the conversation in the year ahead.

Thank you for being here, and we’ll see you in 2026.

  • Selling With Integrity
    Dec 17 2025

As the year comes to a close, The Closers Inner Circle Podcast with Ben Gay III and Denise Griffitts takes a thoughtful look at what truly defines successful selling.

In this episode, we explore why “Selling with Integrity Isn’t Optional — It’s a MUST.” In a world of shortcuts and pressure tactics, integrity remains the foundation of trust, credibility, and long-term success. This conversation challenges sales professionals to reflect on how they show up, how they serve, and how they plan to move forward in the New Year—with honesty, clarity, and purpose.

As we head into a new year, this is a powerful moment to pause and reflect—not just on numbers and goals, but on how we’ve earned them.

Selling with integrity means respecting the client, honoring the relationship, and standing behind what you offer. When integrity leads the way, trust follows, confidence grows, and success becomes sustainable.

As you set your intentions for the New Year, ask yourself:
Am I building relationships—or just chasing transactions?

Because when integrity is non-negotiable, everything else falls into place.

Get your copies of The Closers Books on eBay at Ronzone Books. They arrive with free shipping and signed by Ben Gay III.

EQ Via Empathy: Why Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Drives Real Results with Melissa Robinson-Winemiller

My guest today on Your Partner In Success Radio is Dr. Melissa Robinson-Winemiller, a leader who challenges how we think about empathy in business. With more than twenty years of cross-industry experience, Melissa works with organizations that want cultures that perform better, not just feel better. She is a TEDx speaker, EQ coach, and the author of The Empathic Leader. Her work blends research, real-world leadership experience, and practical tools that make empathy measurable, actionable, and effective. Melissa is passionate about showing leaders that empathy is not a weakness. It is a strength, and it is essential to sustainable success.

Empathy is often labeled a “soft skill,” but today’s conversation makes it clear that it drives very real outcomes. In this episode we explore how empathy can be taught, measured, and applied in ways that increase productivity, innovation, and trust. Melissa also addresses the myth that empathy weakens leadership and explains why self-empathy is the foundation for leading others well. This is a thoughtful, practical conversation for leaders who want stronger cultures and better results without losing their humanity.

  • Stay or Go: The Business Owner’s Dilemma with Cynthia Kay
    Dec 12 2025

Today on Your Partner In Success Radio we are talking about the hardest question many business owners will ever face: is it time to keep building, or time to let go? Cynthia Kay’s upcoming book, 'Should You Stay, or Should You Go', dives into the emotional side of that decision long before the lawyers and bankers show up.

This conversation will dig into why the “should I stay or should I go?” question is so emotionally loaded for business owners, and what hole Cynthia saw in the usual, spreadsheet-driven exit-planning advice that pushed her to write this new book, Should You Stay or Should You Go? We’ll get into her seven signs that it may be time to go, and her seven signs that you may actually need to stay put, teasing apart what’s just a rough season versus the deeper signals—like disappearing passion, becoming more of a caretaker than a leader, sleepless nights, or realizing you’re simply not emotionally ready to walk away. You’ll also hear how she uses tough, inquiry-based questions and practical worksheets to help owners track their feelings over time, what her real-world stories reveal about exiting well or staying well, and a few concrete steps you can take over the next 90 days if you suspect you’re standing at your own crossroads.
