    Episode 168 is on the scene and it is our 2026 Season Premiere! The boys review what they have been up for the holidays and why Jody is now the voice for the voiceless.

    Chris Hettinger has fielded teams in Late Model Stock Competition on the CARS Tour and in other big events. He has tried his hands in the ARCA Menards Series and the Craftsman Truck Series but this year, he takes on his biggest venture yet by becoming an owner in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series for the 2026 season. Chris is our guest this week and gives us a behind the scenes look on how this all came together, being one of the only Ford teams in the garage, maintaining his late model teams and catching us up on his kids successes on and off the race track.

    We discuss the New Year's Bash from Dillon which saw Bobbie Tumbelston III pick up his second straight win and discuss why this year's event may have been too long, the Jeff Sparks/Jeff Melton incident and more of the stories coming out of the event.

    We also give our tributes to Michael Annett, Dennis Hamlin and those involved in the Greg Biffle Plane Crash tragedy and catch you up on the latest news over the break. All on a New Year, New Deez Lug Nutz!

    Episode 167 is on the scene and we welcome zMAX CARS Tour Star Brandon Pierce back to the show. Last week, Brandon announced his plans for the 2026 season and Brandon tells us how his new deal with Kevin Powell Speed Motorsports came together, when those discussions started, how difficult it was to leave Carroll Speedshop and his thoughts about him being on the cusp of becoming all time starts leader on the CARS Tour.

    The boys dive into the recent NASCAR Trial coming to an end and their thoughts about the aftermath and what could come in the future.


    It is Christmas Time and the boys deliver their presents in the racing world that Santa has left plus they break down the Christmas Clash at Carteret, Carson Loftin returning toe Nelson Motorsports and their thoughts on the 2026 SMART Modified Tour schedule that was released last week and more this week on DLN!

    Episode 166 is on the scene and Jody is joined by our good buddy Boo Carlisle who is filling in for Julian this week as co-host.

    Robert Pressley competed in the highest level of NASCAR for over two decades winning at Daytona, Darlington, Dover among other facilities in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. Robert is taking on a new venture as Race Control for the IHRA Stock Car Series that is debuting in 2026 for an 8 race schedule. Robert joins us to tell us about how he got involved in this series, what to expect on race days and what they are looking to accomplish. He also tells us about his days being the promoter at Kingsport Speedway and the lessons he learned doing so and how he will apply that in what the IHRA is looking to bring to the table. He also discusses the rules and the vision for the series. This news has taken the racing world by storm and we give you some insight from one of it's key players.

    Boo and Jody discuss the recent Snowball Derby that was completed shortly before this show went on the air. They discuss Stephen Nasse finally winning this event after 15 years and Ty Majeski's protest following his black flag on the last restart. The boys also reveal if they stayed up till 3:30 Sunday morning to watch the Snowflake and discuss all the weather issues.

    The guys also discuss the ARCA Menards East Series coming to Hickory, the upcoming Christmas Clash at Carteret County and some breaking news concerning the STAR Super Stock Tour and where they will be opening up the season in 2026. All this and more this week on DLN!

    Episode 165 is on the scene and we review the Thanksgiving Classic from Southern National Motorsports Park where Doug Barnes Jr came from the rear and took home the trophy for arguably his biggest win of his career. We discuss the race itself, address the Lee Pulliam/Josh Berry drama and give our takes on the action from the tech shed. We also talk about who else took home a trophy from Southern National in addition to Newport, Wall Stadium and Freedom Factory!

    Blake McCandless started his broadcasting career covering iRacing events as a hobby while obtaining any opportunity he could get his hands on while attending Gardner Webb University. It was that hustle that caught the ear of Dale Earnhardt Jr and ultimately propelled him to being the voice at Ace Speedway and part of the CARS Tour announce team. Blake tells us his story this week.

    Winter Park Florida's George Gorham Jr picked up the biggest win of his Super Late Model career Saturday in the Billy Bigley Sr Memorial 128 UARA event at Freedom Factory in Bradenton Florida. He calls into the show to reveal his thoughts of the win, overcoming the re-draw which sent him to twelfth and shares his background of his career which has mostly seen him race the tough bull rings of his native Florida.

    Wall Stadium in New Jersey holds the Turkey Derby each and every Thanksgiving and has done so since 1974 except for 2020. Max Zachem was the winner on Saturday and he talks to us about his win on Saturday and we get to find out more about this Connecticut racer's career up to this point.

    The Snowball Derby is coming up this weekend and we get you ready for both the Snowflake 125 Pro Late Model Event and the Super Late Model event on Sunday plus the boys discuss their Thanksgiving weekend!

    Episode 164 is on the scene and we are joined by the 2025 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion Austin Beers. Austin tells us about his historic season by becoming the youngest tour champion in the rich history of this tour and what it means to bring it home for the ownership group that ultimately took a chance on him several years ago. He dives into his history being a second generation racer, what Ryan Preece said to him after winning the championship and his aspirations for the future are.

    We review the South Carolina 400 from Florence which saw Caden Kvapil take the win over his big brother Carson. We discuss the Connor Hall and Riley Gentry incident, drivers avoiding accidents and keeping their spots, Carson Brown's pole winning run, Keelan Harvick's Late Model debut, race monitor going down and more.

    We also address the latest news involving the ongoing NASCAR lawsuit which now has Richard Childress in the spotlight over text messages from executives from NASCAR.

    Episode 163 is on the scene and we welcome the winner of the $10,000 Stock 4 World Championship from Ararat BullRing Bentley Caudle. The 15 year old competitor talks to us the weekend, his racing background, what he's going to do with the 10 K and having his name etched into history.

    Joey Braun put a $12,000 bow on his first season in a tour type Modified driver Saturday night by winning the 9th annual Islip 300 at Riverhead Raceway. Braun joins the show to discuss the biggest win of his career, how much the win meant to him as a Long Islander. He also discusses some of the struggles and good times he had on the SMART Modified Tour this season.

    Jeff Melton shook off some of his recent demons on the track this season by winning the Mason Dixon Clash STAR Super Stock event at Florence Motor Speedway on Saturday. He also joins the show to discuss his weekend and how he was able to finally snap his slump he had been in.


    Speaking of Florence, we will get you ready for the South Carolina 400 LMSC event this weekend which will feature Mini Stocks, Legend's and Bandos.

    We also pay tribute to the legendary "Ferrum Flash" Paul Radford who passed away on Sunday. Radford was and always will be a legend not only in Virginia Short Track Racing but all across the genre. He will be missed by all.

We ask Hirschman about a number of topics including the format of the race, how a scoring error could have changed the outcome of the event, why he chose to run the full time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this season this season, his thoughts on Gary Putnam becoming the new director of the tour and thoughts of his father being inducted in the New England Racers Hall of Fame as a non New England Resident.

    The winner of the Fall Brawl at Hickory Michael Bumgarner joins us to talk about the late race bump and run on Carson Kvapil, breaking the all time win record for a season at the track, his thoughts on jumping restarts and his full circle moment involving his father's race winning trophy that he had a hand in breaking.

  • Anger, Sadness & 2026 CARS Tour Schedule Breakdown

    Episode 161 is on the scene and we are trying to figure out why everyone is so angry and sad about the NASCAR playoffs. The mood coming out of Phoenix is supposed to be a celebration of the NASCAR National Touring Series Season but instead, there are more questions than answers. Kyle Larson joins a short list of multiple time Cup Series champions with his championship winning effort on Sunday but Denny Hamlin is the one who everyone is sad about. Connor Zilisch dominated the Xfinity Series Season but everyone is angry that he didn't win the championship and Jesse Love who won one race all season won instead. We discuss all of those scenarios and wonder why Ryan Blaney's win was largely ignored and other topics.

    We discuss Corey Heim's historic season in the Craftsman Truck Series and the likelihood it ever happens again.

    The CARS Tour announced its 2026 schedule last week and we are all over that news item. From the Nashville Fairgrounds, to Newport, to the return of Southern National to a throwback finale to years gone by, the tour has a 15 track schedule that is extremely unique and we discuss it all!

    Ace Speedway had its marquee race on Saturday in The Big Ace Race but we do not have an official winner at the moment. We discuss the happenings from the tech shed.

    South Boston Speedway will host the Krush 250 benefiting the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation. We krush it with analysis of the event and give our winners.
